'The beast' is on the road!

Recommended Posts

Its only taken 4 years, several different vehicles chopped up & stuck back together & hours of work by my husabnd, but his self made amphibious vehicle whaich I call 'The Beast' is finally up & running.

It even floats!

He took it down to the river yesterday morning at the crack of dawn to give it a test run with his mate (who has it all on record in case it sank, so he could Youtube it!).

It is truly the ugliest vehicle you have ever seen, & I am never, never ever going in it either on dry land or in the river, but he seems to like it :lol:

A man has to have a hobby I suppose.

How do you insure a vehicle like that?

He always has to have something on the go,as it were.

Prior to this it was converting his van to run on vegetable oil, going up our old Beetle & making various things around the house (Oh, & building the house too!)

Its only £140 fully comp to insure, under specialist insurance :P

I love it 8)

Must add building one to the list of things to do one day  when I get time :? Retirement project :?: We even have a little lane in the village that runs straight into the river so would be easy to launch. One guy in our village has an amphibious(sp?) tank that I would love to have a ride in

I did a trip on a DUKW over the summer and did idly wonder how easy they are to get hold of... My OH would have a fit
