Meet Polly Pom Pom - Update - she's intergrated herself!

Recommended Posts

Try saying that after two glasses on vino!

Yesterday, after a meet and swap of cardboard boxes in a motorway services on the A1 I came home with a lovley little Poland. I have taken her in from another forum member as her hybrid sisters were not playing nice and picking on her.

Briony and her son were lovely and i got to hear all about their chooks at home and about Polly :)

She is a gold laced poland with a purple tint and has a few feathers missing around her preen gland and her crest.

I spent about half an hour trying to get a picture of her face but as she has no idea which was if forward she was having none of it

She is currently residing in her own rabbit run within the cube run and seems very chilled out about the move. She will live in there for a good while and them a very very very slow introductory free-ranging to the bantams will start at int he week leading up to xmas as I have holiday.

ohhh you dont know how jealous i am that you have a black and gold frizzle lol!

Hi Chris

She isn`t a Frizzle - she is a flat. :)

She is gorgeous though and so laid back!

Currently moulting a bit so hopefully the purple tinted feathers will be the ones to go and regrow!

 has intergrated herself!!!!

Came home from work last night to find her escaped from her rabbit run and snuggled in between Lemon and Fudge the normally anti-social pekins!

The rabbit run has a lift up lid which I hadn`t secured shut as it was within the cube run and Justin has since told me that he has seen her do a harrier jump jet move straight up and flip the lid open for the last few days! He has been popping her back in but she keeps getting out!

I removed her from the cube last night, popped her back in her rabbit run only to find her shouting and setting of the sensor lights in the cube run again  So fed her back into the cube for the night.

Got up and watched them for an hour or so this morning and it is like she has always been in there! Lemon seems glued to her left side and Fudge to her right! Jus called me to let me know a mass dust bath was in progress this afternoon. :D

That is the fastest integration I have ever done - not that I actually did anything other than plonk her in the rabbit run and leave her in there for two weeks. They didn`t even have a joint free-range! Normally I take about 8 weeks - sometimes longer!

I will of course keep an eye on things and Justin knows to watch them and report to me when he is working from home but things are looking GOOD!!!

You lucky thing Em, my babies are still seperated from the big girls, I just darent let them all together. i have let a couple of big girls in at a time with them and they have been fine but I just cant take that extra step - just in case :wall:

Maybe I need to show them a film or two - 'the great escape'?, 'Chicken run'?
