Is it me?

 

I've been to Ikea several times since I had the chickens but they NEVER have the see through cheap shower curtains in stock. I go mainly to Milton Keynes so is it just MK?

 

Which Ikeas have you bought yours from? I can get to Coventry, Southampton and Brent Cross just as easily as MK if I know there's a supply.

My catchment area is the same as yours, and I can't find them any more, also the cheap ones from Te$co aren't in stock any more have resorted to Homebase and twice the price!

I had a wasted journey as well but then looked it up on line and went when the store showed good stocks last week. Just a blip I think. and 79p thought they were 89p last time.

They sell them on ebay

A bit more expensive, but still a good price.

I just bought five on Ebay for about £11 I think, much less stressful than going to Ikea

I got 5 ikea shower curtains from the MK branch a few weeks ago.

My sister was visitting last year from Perth W Australia, they have smaller easy IKEA.

She brought me 3 pairs

ikea in coventry normally have a good stock of them - if i've not beaten you to it!! and the price has reduce - now 79p!!!! Yeah, i'm well stocked so i'm sure there'll be some left!

( PS Someone from the forum emailed me and asked me what they were for- they are to use as tarpaulins over the cube/eglu run. )

I had to try a couple of trips to get my curtains from Milton Keynes Ikea. After a couple of tries I asked a member of staff and they checked on their computer and said when the stock would be back in. Very accurate and most helpful. I think they do sell out pretty fast though. Good luck.

Try Dunelm Mill.

 

They do a clear plastic sheeting there ( among the plastic table cloths) and it is very good. A bit pricier than an Ikea Shower curtain, but saves going to the place and using half a tank of petrol if you have a Dunelm Mill near you.

Thanks Egluntyne. I didn't make Ikea yesterday after all so Dunelm it may be. It's not much nearer ( Swindon or Reading, I think) but it's a pleasanter shopping experience!

Don't Wicks and or Homebase sell heavy duty clear polythene off Huge great big rolls.

And /OR garden centres sell bubble wrap off rolls.

No idea of costs but cannopt imagine wicks would be terribly expensive.

I just fitted a new galss clear tarp from Tarpaflex today, not easy in the cold, but the girls are appreciating the extra light.

the tarpaflex are nice and thick too, so I expect they appeciate a few degrees warmer too.

I went to Dunhelm Mill today and they'd sold out of the clear PVC I tried Wickes but their tarps are blue or green so I went to B&Q and bought "Floormaster" laminate floor membrane (3m x 4m and 0.2mm thick) for £12. It's really tough and I spent a freezing afternoon in a blizzard fitting it along the front and back of my run, but the girls are lovely and snug so it's (or THEY'RE) worth it!

Edited to add, the Dunhelm Mill PVC is GLASS clear! Saw it in the Maidstone store and regret not buying it! Will have to wait until my store has it back in stock (this weekend !)

If anyone's interested I was at Ikea today and purposely bought an extra four Nackten shower curtains in case anyone on here wanted me to send them one! PM me if you're interested

 

Also does anyone have any advice on how to affix the aforementioned shower curtain to the Eglu run?

I used some long bungies from B&Q and hooked them to the wire mesh - a 2 pack was about £3.00 I think.

Bulldog clips are good as well for stopping the edges flapping
