craftyhunnypie
I've been the Sales today. Got a bottle of mulled wine from M&S £2.99 instead of £5.99 & it's 12%. Also got 2 Belgian chocolate puddings reduced to £1 each. They look seriously naughty but nice. Got a pair of shorts from Sports World reduced from £22.99 to £6.99. My best buys were in Next. I bought a Signature perfume set £10, instead of £20 - (sisters birthday prezzie) A stars perfume set - £7, instead of £15. 2 bottles of perfume £3, instead of £6 each A pair of camo shorts for hubby £10, instead of £20. A Matryoska Russian dool bag charm £3, instead of £6 A bikini for £10 instead of £32. I then went Dunelm & found a crochet book for £1.45 & a knitting pattern for 42p. I am very pleased. I have some nice gifts there & also some bits for our hols. Great stuff! Emma.x

Blackrocksrock
I am trying to stay away too - saving in 2010 for my new woodburner after my new oil central heating! You got some good bargains though and glad I did not go as I would have just bought stuff too.
docsquid
Definitely avoiding the Sales. I cannot abide shops at the best of times, but the Sales make me cringe even more.
craftyhunnypie
Next was surprisingly quiet. Thank goodness. I don't normally do the Sales, but was passing on the way to Dunelm. Emma.x
alexgirl73
I went to have a look at the sales today too, and came home with 2 rabbits!!! Only went into PAH to have a look at their sale items, saw 2 rabbits in the adoption section (mother and daughter), and left with them lol. We do have a spare hutch as my old lad Minstral died about a month ago, but they are safely in the old playhouse for the time being, all snug
Janty
I have bought all my Christmas and birthday presents for next year in the sales today (except for hubby and son's).
Willow
Didn't get beyond John Lewis today (went in for a new duvet), got duvet but felt JL sale was pretty poor. Only bargain was Aran wool half price so got enough for a sweater for my husband in pale grey, just need to hope my sisters MIL knits it up for him She already knitted him one in cream that he wears all the time when it's cold. Looney
I wandered into Ely on boxing day and practically everywhere was closed which was great as the place was deserted. I was able to browse the half price sale in Boots without any pushing or shoving or tutting and found a few things that will do very nicely for birthday presents during the coming year! Wonderful! Oh and I treated myself to some nice little perfumes

The Dogmother
I saved a fortune in the sales!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't go to any Same here! Me three! I refuse to worship at the altar of commercialism I was astonished on Boxing Day morning.. i extended the dog walk to go through the town centre, which I'd hoped would be empty... but oh no; the market square was full of cars and the shopping centre was thronging with people fighting through the sales... all at 8 o'clock in the morning!!!!! craftyhunnypie
Hence the reason I went today & not yesterday. Lovely & quiet. I too have prezzies for throughout the year, which to me is good. I have expensive taste, hobbies & like nice holidays - so if I can save any money anywhere it's great. I have saved money today on stuff I need & stuff I saw before Xmas at full price. I am very pleased. Each to their own - but I enjoyed my shop & my bargains. I also might go again on Wednesday - to see what Next have left. Emma.x
Guest
I have expensive tastes too, hence why I don't go shopping! How does it go?..... 'Champagne tastes but beer money'? Actually, I prefer to call it good taste, but tasteful things usually (although not always) come at a price so I try not to put myself in the way of temptation. To be honest though, since I gave up work, I am much happier finding pleasure in simple things and saving money gives me more of a thrill than spending it ever did! Cinnamon
I do the sales from the comfort of my own home Picked up some Jammies for Cleo, a few bits from M&S, & some Lock & Locks from Lakeland. I won't be venturing into town until the madness ends
Redwing
I'm wth Poet on this one I cant remember the time I went proper shopping, my mum buys me clothes as I wear the same things all the time and I keep saying 'its not that I cant afford new clothes I just can't stand shopping!' I am grateful for those clothes though as I dont have to go shopping My mum who doesnt so much worship at the alter as live there doesnt really 'get' why anyone wouldnt want to shop till they dropped
Looney
Cinnamon, you reminded me! I did some sale shopping for Bogwoppit too, all online. We have hardly anywhere locally to buy children's clothes since Woolies and Adams closed down. And the best thing was I had a Spend £40 Get £15 Off voucher which included sale items. So, he'll be getting 6 long sleeve t-shirts, two short sleeve t-shirts and three pairs of trousers and it cost me less than £30 including p&p. I hate busy shops so usually avoid the sales but I do like a good bargain!

theherd123
OH & I wandered into our town centre on Boxing Day just to get some fresh air & have a cup of coffee. We passed the Next store! The staff were wearing shirts which had a logo on the back saying 'I survived the Next sale!' The shop was so packed I dont think you could have described it as a sale but more of a battle zone! OH & I popped into Adams & Boots which were both quiet and we picked up a few half price bits for Isabelle
The Dogmother
I worship at the alter of freecycle! Me too! I know what you mean Tasha, my mother and sister both love shopping... and spending... I just buy what we need, when we need it.
bluekarin
I shall pop into M&S, Next and Debenhams when the kids have gone back to school to see what is left at rock bottom prices. The thought of going to the shops, on Boxing Day, and fighting with the mob for that supposed must get at a bargain price items fills me with cold dread. Not my idea of fun at all. craftyhunnypie
Ahem...! I also buy what I need, but for a few pennies less. I wasn't brought up to be 'tight' or a spendaholic - just sensible! Honestly! I get a bit of enjoyment from going out for some fresh air in the sales, tell you lot about it & just wish I'd never bothered saying anything!
