Well Done Mozzer :clap::clap::clap:

I cant believe i missed this, have just read it all, :shock: i cant believe what the old codger has said, in print too! :shock:

Your letter is absolutely first class Mostin and all the better for the impulsive rantish flow, any delay or more thought could have watered it down some.

Very impressed :clap::clap::clap:

Hiya & good for you Mostin! :clap: We all had to start somewhere. I started with 3 chooks & now have 27. I enjoy breeding now. Usually my own eggs or from Wernlas.

However, I have hatched onelot of silkie eggs off ebay. I was very pleased and researched before I purchased. I saw photos of the whole quartet & I only buy usually from people with no more than 3 birds to 1 cockerel & those who have 100% or 99. something feedback & a high number. I got 2 out of 3 silkies, but all 3 were fertile. I got one of each & was over the moon.

Thanks, I'm really glad you had such a good result from ebay. The ebay part of my letter is the part 'm not quite happy with :? , but I had steam coming out of my ears when it was written :lol::lol: .

Well done - I am please not only did they publish you letter the editor has also made a comment and in Captain C's section he also sort of apologies (for the women bit anyway).

I am sure it will not change his views, but may make him think twice about what he publishes and commits to paper in future.

Well done I haven't got it yet but I will soon. I will still continue to seek advice from my more experienced ladies and continue to ask daft questions occasionally but the ladies are usually a bit more forgiving( photo sizing springs to mind Egluntyne???)

Serious breeders have their own agenda but no one should knock us backyard chook keepers I personally think we have done more to raise public awareness about such things as battery hen conditions than any of the old guard. So keep up the good work ladies, Men, Boys, Girls as long as we enjoy what we are doing and keep our chooks as well as we know how and keep asking for advice when we don't know everything the w e won.t go far wrong :)
