Lavenders_Blue
How right you are. I have never been so interested in atmospheric gases and lakes of liquid methane He doesn't look like a professor or a Brian either. (Apologies to any Brians)

sadietoo
Isn't he gorgeous?..and he makes the solar system accessible even to numbskulls like me..I've been raving about this for three weeks now to anyone who will listen..I think Wonders of the Solar System is fabulous...and what a role model for our young scientists....rock star, astrophysicist, boyish good looks, as French and Saunders used to say he's got it all darling
Guest
physics is the new rock and roll, just watch The Big Bang Theory

debbier
He lectures at Manchester, I think? I only wish my lecturers had been as enthusiastic or personable as he is. He makes the whole thing seem really fascinating. I liked the bit on last night's programme where someone made a comment about a meteorite fragment, saying something like "imagine the temperature to melt that!", and he replied, in all seriousness "about 3000 deg C"
Cinnamon
physics is the new rock and roll, just watch The Big Bang Theory Oh, I do,I do One of the best things on TV IMHO - Sheldon is the man! (just don't sit in his spot!!!)
SarahJo
Thanks for posting this topic - thought I was the only one, when I discoverred him on Sunday night Apparently its a series - so more recording to do for YS who is writing a book on space at school - purely research you understand
patsylabrador
There's quite a lot of lovely men to watch at the moment. Mustn't forget Simon Reeve who is delightful, and on dvd we have nice scottish bloke presenting Earth, and very watchable bloke presenting Wild Weather. Who needs Darcy? Old Speckled Hen
Great programme. I am a scientist and it's so refreshing to see such an interesting show with such a gorgeous presenter. Much better than all this singing, dancing, skating drivel we get. Richard hammond has his "Invisible World" on tonight and there should be a snippet about "heater bees" a new look on bee life that has had many beekeeping fora buzzing with disbelief. Chickendoodle
He is brilliant - he was on the Sunday morning show - Something for the Weekend - a little while ago and he was answering viewers questions in such an easily understandable way without patronising. He is so so clever and completely un-pretentious and gorgeous! He works at the Hadron Collider - how cool is that!
Old Speckled Hen
Which reminds me ................ How many people bought Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" and never finished it?
The Dogmother
I've been catching this on watch again and love it - my favourite subject made easy to understand It helps that he's easy on the eye and talks slower than Patrick Moore! chickencam
We have only watched the first one, DS has watched them all though, he is fascinated. If all science could be taught in this way, children would be so much more open to it. I thought he was attractive too, but I bet he was a geeky teased adolescent though, he has that look about him.
