Seagazer
Ooh I can remember some rather itchy crimplene type dresses my mum used to make for me and my sister. Sometimes as a treat we'd have cotton dresses too actually we had rather a lot of crochet dresses as well.

Chook n Boo Mum
It's amazing how so many of us believe the advertisers ......I remember the turquoise nylons sheets........I used to take them out into the garden at my nan's house, wash them in a bucket, hang them up to drip dry & put them back on the bed within a very short space of time....how grownup I felt at 10 I had a ghastly red trouser suit which was worn with a white roll neck............. Yes, I get them too. The ones with the comfortable wide-fitting shoes, the "easy care" floral printed fabrics and phones with big buttons and easy-read dials. sadietoo
I've just shown that to my DS as a reminder that science isn't always beneficial to mankind..oh the static, and the sweat..I had a nice crimplene jacket that my mum bought for me, in turquoise of course... also those lovely brushed nylon sheets and the brushed nylon nighties...no wonder my hair still stands on end!! But...I do remember my mum manhandling the cotton sheets and scrubbing Dad's shirts before she had a washing machine..what a boon those nylon sheets and shirts must have been
Valkyrie
Ugh, shudder. My mum used to get Brentford Nylon sheets - some of those were brushed. I can remember many a warm night getting stuck to those blasted things. Every toenail used to make horrible noises. And of course the static. Now I get quite a big charge going without the need for additional painful zaps and fireworks during the night. I can't wear tights or stockings or anything with nylon. Rhapsody
Bri-nylon sheets and nylon nighties- they used to combine to make a primitive Velcro and leave you trapped in bed for hours maybe that was the plan
