sadietoo
We have a large amount of tiled/parquet flooring in our house... So far I have tried a strips of j cloth on a mophead type thingy , a squeegee type mop from Lakeland (awful and stayed wet and smelt damp for ages ) and have reverted to a broom and a floor cloth at the moment..We don't have anywhere to dry a mop easily so I don't want something that is going to hang around drying for ages, and I really like the idea of something I can throw into the washing machine after use (like the floor cloth but less hard work please!) there are all sorts of mops on the market..like e-cloths mop and vileda ultramax, and I just wondered before I invest my hard-earned, if anyone has any experience of these, or any recommendations for a good floor mop... Thanks for taking the trouble to read...I completely understand if you can't summon the energy to respond on such a boring topic... But I'd really like it if you did! Ms Marple
Go on then.... I'll reply! I have tried allsorts in the past and am currently at my happiest - if you can call floor mopping a cheerful experience - with my emop. I splashed out last year and have been REALLY happy with it. You can dust first and it manages to reach under the cooker and other appliances! Then you change the cloth bit to wash the floor using just water - and amazingly it really works. We hace oak flooring in our kitchen and I use the floorcloth bit with a plastic water spray ans it works a treat. I bought a second set of cloths from Lidl, so that I can rotate the washing etc. it works well on h other floors too like the Vicorian tiles in my hall. Very HAppy - or just easily pleased!! Would defo recommend.
Egluntyne
I've got an emop and agree, that it is fab. I posted about it last year **here**.

Cinnamon
I have a Flash Power Mop & I love it. it may not be the greenest one out there, but by golly it does a good job! It is a battery operated mop which you click a bottle of special Flash cleaner into. It has disposable pads for the bottom & I use it on my tiles & laminate floors. I don't use it on my solid oak bits though, preferring a Vileda mop & bucket, plus Pledge soapy cleaner for there.
Daphne
I've got an OH who does the floor mopping - can highly recommend I believe he goes for the old fashioned wet mop plus some tile cleaner approach
Chucky Mama
How are these mops on slate floors? My vileda type mops get chewed up pretty quickly.
debbier
We have terracotta tiles in our kitchen, and it trashes mops very quickly. I've tried all sorts, but nothing lasts long. I'll have a look at that e-mop link. I wouldn't mind paying extra for something that did the job and didn't disintegrate in one session! edit: how does the wet head work? I'd like to be able to just use a bucket etc. for speed, but the site I just looked at doesn't make it clear whether you have to take the head off to rinse/wring it? The Dogmother
I have a combination of Victorian pine boards and old quarry tiles; I hoover it all regularly and then follow with a wet Vileda mop. Does the trick nicely.

I get round my floor with one mophead/cloth and its a lot of floor. It really does work with very little water. it even works in the dogs room- although I always leave that until last and then wash the mophead/cloth in the washing machine. I had not seen Eglutyne's link previously - but we are in agreement - can't believe I am getting excited about a mop
