Lewis
Thanks again We're been looking for dads next company car - looked at BMW, Merc and Audi - and I'll be allowed to drive it this time next year! They won't let me test drive them though

debbier
Congratulations! Tell your mum and dad you'll buy your car if they'll cough for the insurance ... a friend's young son just got quoted 3.5K for a year's insurance, and I don't think it was a Porsche How can anyone afford that???? Valkyrie
DD was added to our insurance - hers was £1000, so not too bad - fully comp too. Depends where you go I suppose. Pays to look around - but then boys have a habit of racing each other and crashing everywhere - as did my neighbour's son and his brother - she paid the insurance and bought their cars, but they never appreciated it and now the youngest one has been banned for 3 years (writing off 2 cars in the process and thankfully not killing the other innocent driver on the other side of the motorway when his car landed on top of hers before toppling off into a ditch), whereas the older lad had to buy and fork out for himself - he's grown up a bit too. Scary stuff is driving nowadays. You drive carefully young fellamelad!

Lewis
Thanks again My friends are all paying £1500-£2500+ insurance, and thats on little cars + most are a good few years old. Some of the ones with cheaper insurance can't drive from 11pm-7am 'cos I assume thats the most likely drink driving times. Then they're paying for petrol + everything else on top of that Will def be waiting 'till next year and drive the parentals cars - luckily friends normally share lifts + we just give them petrol money
The Dogmother
That sounds like a sensible idea Lewis, just don't forget how to drive in the meantime!
Lewis
I know I said that to my instructor but he said loads of people don't drive for the years they're at Uni + are normally fine. Got the 6 hours PassPlus booked to do motorways etc, and he said could always book a couple of hours next year if I think I need them

Clash City Rocker
The "Brat" has passed her test today, her 2nd test, just in time before she goes to uni in September. She read in the newspaper that reasearch shows that you have more chance of passing on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, rather than Thursday and Friday when the "weekly target's have been met by the examiners". I don't know whether this is true but she failed on a Friday and passed on a Monday morning !!!!!!
Lewis
So if I passed on Thurs was I extra good? They say on the website there aren't any quotas or targets to pass or fail, everyone has an equal chance. Well done to her and Thanks Janty
Lewis
Have just been for a drive Mothers lease car insurance changed or something, so she filled the forms in this morning and I can use her car She only said when she got home, and then we went out Drove to Tamworth, then back to Sutton to pick Nat up from work Its only a little car + the engine is silent so I can never hear the bite! Stalled twice trying to get onto the big Bassets Pole island Thought I'd have to drive with her in the car for a year, and then can go out on my own ... but I don't. Sure I will for the first few times ... but she's more nervous than me!
