The Dogmother Posted December 5, 2010 Share Posted December 5, 2010 I didn't understand why Kara's dance didn't get a full house of 10's. It was spectacular, and the dress she wore was divine. Pam was fab and deserved her score. Loved Matt. Scott disappointed again. I didn't agree with the judges. I couldn't agree more; I think that Scott has reached his potential now. She seemed to have caught Felicity's gurning habit, and looked like Les Dawson I can't believe that Scott, and not 'Gavin the Plank' was in the last two couples - OK, so he has stopped improving at such a great rate and isn't as polished as the others, but he's still and excellent and charismatic dancer. alih Posted December 5, 2010 Share Posted December 5, 2010 I am going to the show in Feb and am ecstatic that Matt and Ricky are in it - but gutted that Ann will be there. I thought Bruno hit the nail on the head tonight re Scott - he shouldn't win but he should absolutely be in the final 4....what on earth is Gavin doing sailing through? Pamela, Kara and Matt in the final 3 for me, with Matt to win. On a note related to earlier posts, I have to say I would not be happy at all if I were the wife of someone about to spend a few months on tour and I am not the jealous or the possessive type. Personally I thought Gavin had put in a tremendous effort this week and was tons better, and deserved to get through...but I am a bit biased ...apart from the Jive, I haven't been that impressed with any of Scott's dances, and find all the face pulling quite off putting... Can't think of many other pro's that Ann could have been partnered with, that would have been prepared to have done what Anton did! I think their version of the Titanic will live with me for a long time!! In some ways I am sorry she has gone - I laughed hysterically each time she came on! - but the time was right, and we've been left with some good dancers for the final few weeks. Just can't afford it. Kara was good but I think 38 was right for her... I hated her eye makeup and hair, I know it was in character but thought it was a bit too daft. The dress though, how gorge! Natalie's costume was just far too skimpy, there was no reason for it in a paso. Samba maybe, but not a paso. She's the only professional I have not warmed too. Matt was amazing, a damn shame he forgot how to count to four there in the step sequence. Pamela I like very much - but her line is not so good as Karas, her legs can sometimes be too wide, her neck a little squat... I don;t understand how she scores higher than Kara consistently when I would say Kara just has the edge over her? Matt and Kara for 1st and 2nd... I loved Kara's dress, would have liked it even more if the pink inserts had been black, but that's just my taste. Erin's dress was so elegant. I loved his performance (even though I can't stand the Austin Powers films) but was worried the public wouldn't like it. I'm so relieved he is through. He's been my favourite all the way from that acrobatic tumble in the first dance. Kara is amazing and I think she is consistently undermarked by the judges. She and Artem really push the boundaries and I admire them for it. Pamela and James' "Ghost" dance was cheesy but magical at the same time. I really liked it. Gavin the Plank had shown much improvement this week, but is still the worst dancer left. Scott is variable. I do quite like him but his clowning around really hacks me off. Thank heavens Ann has gone. Well overdue IMHO. My wish for the result is 1st Matt, 2nd Kara, 3rd Pamela. I really want to go to the live show this year. So either of those two winning would be ok by me. I can't stand Scott. He seems so cocky to me and the judges seem to love him no matter what he does. Hope he goes soon! Gavin has improved the most and has gor really into the whole thing. I find Scott a bit arrogant and annoying and his form has been very erratic. Matt was fab and so was Kara. Pamela's dance was lovely but I do feel that the 10's were only given because it was her birthday and that Kara lost out as a result. He said that at one point she was wobbling and got slightly out, when the camera was on her top half rather than the bottom. If it hadn't been for that, he would have given a 10. While he may be grumpy - he really does only give out top marks when he sees (what he believes is) a perfect dance - unlike flippin Alesha.... I think Alesha was a good contestant but as a judge is a waste of space. I'm sure she is a lovely talented lady but I don't value her input on Strictly. If I was a contestant I think I would find her patronising. I could state the obvious like her. I'd go with Craig's scoring anytime. Bruno seems giddier than normal this year.
