Best of luck with them My Vorwerk comes from show stock and the guy who I bought him from looked really crestfallen when I said he was going to be a pet. Not that he looks anything special after my boss hen pulled some of his tail feathers out. I wish he'd grow up. Does anybody know when a cockerel does grow up? My welsummer cockerel emerged from his pubescent state at about 32 weeks and took over the pecking order within a week after being bottom of it before then. Just one look and the new three run away, at the moment I have two mini flocks. They will stay like that and my two existing adult cockerels will join them for the winter indoors - as long as no female is in sight they will be happy as a group and wont fight Wyandottes take ages to mature - Tarzan who is the dad to this lot really only properly filled out at about ten months old!
