Patience is a virtue.....

Gina, Its a roll of thin fabric, that allows water through, but not weeds! I'm hoping it works as i've just laid 3 rolls of the stuff! It says on the pack it last 10 years :D

Just been to my local family run garden centre and they are delivering bark to me today! :D:D:D:D

Yay - I can get the veggie garden finished! I'm sooo happy! :D

Fab news Clare! Got loads of gardening to get done (if Stefan is in a better mood that is - teething  ....)

Christian.....what the membrane thingy called. Sounds just what I need in my garden. I have a very mature garden, which unfortunalty includes very mature weeds too.

It wasn't looked after properly before we moved in, and up to now we've really only done the minimum to make it look ok...mow the lawn, tidy up the obvious bits etc.....we're now cleraing it all out and starting again.

We've found some pretty fantastic weeds (in their millions, I'm sure!) and I'm not sure pulling them up is going to cure them for long enough for us to get going with the planting.

It looks like it'll be a good weekend for gardening Christian :D

Pity i'll be indoors painting :(

Shame you are indoors. We are driving to Scotland :( to see OHs Mum :D so I can't plant my beautiful new beds as not here to water!

My brother (plumber) still hasn't fitted my outside tap at the back of the house either. :(

That's a long drive Christian

Have a good journey and don't worry too much about planting out yet there's plenty of time

I experimented this year and just potted up a couple of seeds of everything I had bought (which was a lot of different things) and the only things not doing very well are my courgettes, which seem to have died off. They were kept in the greenhouse. I must plant some more

The other thing that hasn't grown are my sweetcorn and yet Jules my 8 year old planted some in a little tray and hers are about 3" tall now, she must have green fingers

I will get up very early on saturday morning and start painting for a few hours and then get in the garden

That's a long drive Christian

Only 480 miles! With OH driving at 70!:roll: We should be there a week on Wednesday!

I gave some sweetcorn seed to next door and all of hers came up. I only got 3 plants. Have just planted another batch, so hopefully fingers crossed. Most of my courgettes died too, but still have a few.

Enjoy the garden this weekend.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back Christian, you've done a super job :D:D:D

You fitted loads of compost into Mortimer Mini :D:D:D

I love those Minis, would have got one rather than a Megane, but I needed a more family size car. My first car was a "P" reg 1975 black mini called "Martha"

Have a super weekend in Scotland with your OH

I keep thinking that you put a giant trowel in the Mini.:roll:

How funny...me too Sheila!

Christian, you must be so pleased at your fab DIY. It looks as good as any proffessional job, and you'll really really appreciate the veggies you grow now!

Hope you enjoy your weekend having got this sorted. Keep us posted!

That's brilliant Christian - you must be so proud 8)

We'll need follow up photos throughout the season

My little purple Mini - called Mimi - carried 6 bags of pig feed home one day - and then a bit later on, brought two pigs back home from the abattoir :? We placed the pig's heads so they were looking out of the rear window :wink:

FABULOUS!!!!

What a smashing set up you've got there!!

Worth the wait.......and you will have saved a fortune....which you can spend on chocolate, alcohol, diamonds or interesting fruit bushes or veg.....or a freezer for all the surplus!

Well done.
