Chickendoodle
Can't believe it - now I've gone and ordered a retro spot one - better than having bath towels on the kitchen floor permanently to soak up dog paw drips! This is a very expensive forum
Old Speckled Hen
I love my turtle mats and the first ones I bought were the large original ones and they have lasted me twenty years. I have the one that says BATH in the downstairs shower room and I use the The gamefish blue and lobster blue ones http://www.richardbramble.co.uk/search_results.php?keywords=turtle+mat&doSearch=search In the bathroom

newcountrygirl
Hi I have two Turtle mats - one for outside and one for inside. They are both brilliant. Haven't tried washing them yet but they are really good quality and do the job.
Mercedes55
I've got 2 indoors, one in the conservatory and then the zebra stripe one in the hall which I love as it goes very well with the oak flooring. I also bought the mud hog outdoor mat and it's good for s"Ooops, word censored!"ing off all the dirt from the garden

Alis girls
I have been debating one of these for ages - another Omlet reason to spend money
abwsco
Mine arrived this morning, has been washed and is out on a clean mopped flooor so wobetide anyone who leaves any dirty footprints on my floor now. Colours of the retro spot are perfect as well
DebC
You lot are a bad influence I'd been looking for a very large door mat for the french doors in the kitchen. I saw this discussion did some research and have now bought one - 75x150 from the internet. It arrived Friday and it's fab! OH is impressed, particulary as yesterday we took the opportunity of some slightly warmer weather to give the WIR a really good clean and that always leaves the kitchen floor looking such a mess with all the coming in and going out that happens. I have to say I didn't tell him how much it cost until after he'd seen how well it worked I think I may end up buying more. Thanks for all the helpful comments
Lavenders_Blue
Well, it's taken over a year but I have just succumbed to my first Omlet must have. My turtle mat arrived yesterday We have a carpeted hallway (bad idea, I know!) and wet, muddy weather really isn't kind to it. I've relegated the old mat to the back door in the utility room and the turtle mat is now by the front door. I'm expecting great things! And if it's good, I'll get another one for the back door. Old Speckled Hen
Dobies have the large plain ones for sale at £29.
Shirl
Oh dear. I bought a National Trust Brocade design to go by our front door. We've just had the parquet sanded and finished and want to keep it looking good. £45 does seem an awful lot for a door mat though and it's not that big. Lavenders_Blue
Well, it's taken over a year but I have just succumbed to my first Omlet must have. I've relegated the old mat to the back door in the utility room and the turtle mat is now by the front door. I'm expecting great things! And if it's good, I'll get another one for the back door. Well, just to update, it is good and I have bought another one for the back door Also a mud hog mat for outside the back door may inadvertantly have slipped into my basket as well They do initially seem expensive, but to be honest I think they are worth every penny as the mat I had before cost £12, didn't stop any dirt and can't be washed. On the other hand the turtle mat really does trap dirt brilliantly (don't be afraid to give your shoes a really good scrub on it!) and can be washed over and over. Three cheap mats later and I'd have spent the same as on turtle mat anyway!
Old Speckled Hen
Two of my turtle mats are older than my 25year old DD and they still wash and wear brilliantly. Newly washed the grandbabies play safely on them. I also have two mudhogs, one between the garden and the conservatory with the dog in mind and one at the back door between the kitchen and the Cube. poachedegg
So the Mud Hog goes outside?
Old Speckled Hen
Yes, it's brilliant at getting all the muck off your boots and you just hose it down now and then.
Olly
Oh stop it ... I'm still dithering about the cost, but having been at home for the last week and in and out of the garden every day, I'm beginning to think I really need one. Would you have a Mud Hogg outside in preference to a Turtle Mat inside? (I can't afford both!)
Ain't Nobody Here
Just having a little look on Ebay (as you do!) and came across this mat - might suit someone who has ducks . http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Country-Living-Duck-Retro-Spot-Turtle-Mat-/110621715336?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Rugs_SM&var=&hash=item5f76d0a873 Don't think the photo is great but it says the mat is brand new. newcountrygirl
I've got a mud Hog outside and a turtle mat inside. They are good for humans. Unfortunately my Border terrier thinks it's much more fun to sidestep the mat and put her muddy pawprints all over my clean kitchen floor (I say - clean - it only lasts for about 5 minutes)
