Amazon

I checked on the Royal mail tracking system and it said they had been informed that my package would be with them on the 8th Dec, no indication they have recieved it, but Amazon say it is with the courier :wall: I'm worried my package has fallen into some virtual black hole...emailed Amazon again

OH is waiting for an Amazon order. Checked up on the order this morning and has a message to say the courier tried to deliver the parcel on Wednesday at 4.20pm. There were 3 people in the house at that time on Wednesday and we haven't had a failed delivery card either in the post box at the end of the drive or through the letter box in the porch. Usually couriers or the postie leave parcels in the unlocked porch for us. I think the courier got to our lane and decided not to risk driving down it.

OH has to arrange for another delivery but it can't now be delivered until after Christmas.

OH has told me his Amazon order is my Christmas present.

I had this last week with Parcelforce. They just lied and said that they had tried to deliver :shameonu:

I do pity Amazon though. The weather has really conspired against them. Once the parcels leave them it is really out of their hands and up to the couriers or Royal mail who are normal people rather than super heros driving vans rather than snow ploughs. Fingers crossed that everyone gets their Christmas goodies in time. Some can't even get out to shops for backup gifts :(

I can't remember if Amazon take a contact number when you order but if the courier driver had phoned me I would have donned my wellies and walked up the lane to collect the parcel. Other couriers phone for directions when their Satnav can't find the cottage. We do not show up on Satnavs even though the cottage has been here for over a hundred years and there has been a Castle here since 1140. Once you turn off the road towards the lane satnavs show you driving in a field

I ordered a dvd off amazon for my mum for christmas, it has been dispatched but was meant to be delivered 13th december but obviously because of the terrible weather it hasn't been able to get delivered, which I totally understand. Will just wait for it, doesn't matter if it comes after christmas. We didn't even get any post yesterday because it's been so bad here.

I've always used Amazon and had a great service off them, this won't be putting me off using them again.

Hope everybody else gets their parcels soon! :D

I've lodged a claim with Amazon today. Although I bought the product on the Amazon website, it was a 3rd party selling items on the site which I guess makes life interesting. Amazon can clearly see my attempted correspondance with the 3rd party, and the fact I have had no replies - but I wonder how long it will take to either get a refund or the shovel... If they responded to emails and confirmed how/when the product was sent I would maybe wait longer - but as they are not replying I am not sure what else to do! Was ordered 27th Nov.

I just have a funny feeling it has never been sent out in the first place...

I'm sitting here smug - all presents are under the tree & wrapped! Mostly purchased online (incl. Amazon) and all delivered ahead of time - pretty lucky as our roads are now sheet ice & snow, with temperature at -15 by night! The best was 2 wooden canoe paddles ordered off EBay last Tuesday they had a 6-8 days expected time on them - I ordered 10am Tue and they arrived 6pm Wed from the other side of the country.

...whilst I may have the presents food shopping and getting relatives down from North Wales to open the presents may be a greater challenge.

I'm still waiting too. Ordered two things on 9th Dec, one has come and one hasn't!! Both Amazon own items and the same sort of thing (one is a spare part of the other)??? Both were dispatched by Royal Mail on 12th and I live in the only part of the country with no snow.... wondering if I should conclude one is lost.

Where is Amazon based? Would that explain it???
