Now I ordered Toy story the box set for YS - due to arrive Friday but it aint arrived. Tried tracking and sent an email - hope its just a delay as the leave our parcels on doorstep. Luckily expensve shoes for ES got here safe and sound. I heard on the radio today that many companies are struggling to deliver a backlog of orders due to the weather. some companies are not taking orders from Scotland and can't guarentee delivery before Christmas to Scotland on orders placed just before or after the Snow arrived. Redwing Posted December 13, 2010 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Its Christmas guys - we all know what happens to the post at Christmas, add that to the delays caused by the snow and its not surprising things are late! Apparently in parts of the country there is a shortage of hire vans as couriers draft in extra staff and vans to try and get the deliveries done Its not in anyones interest to 'make' deliveries late - no one wants a bad reputation, I am sure they are doing all they can to catch up Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've got other stuff I want to order but am tempted just to wait until after Christmas - it's only for me and OH so we can wait! More snow forecast which is just going to exacerbate the problem . I sent a parcel to an Omleteer and it took 8 days to arrive (no, it wasn't the secret swap, so no trying to work things out )! Still waiting for a few bits from amazon and ebay, but I suppose they will get here eventually I spoke to the Post Lady the other day and she said that everyone made it to work in the snow, but the Boss wouldn't let them deliver due to 'Elf & safety! I have called them and they said I have to give it until today and if it still hasn't arrived they will re-send. Fat chance of getting it before Christmas! They said that 2 weeks delay was unusual and assumed that it was lost! They gave me a full refund for the items and offered to reorder them for me.... lillybettybabs Posted December 14, 2010 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Most courier companies have a backlog in scotland and south, Talking to our Pacel Forces driver this morning and they are really struggling with a backlog at Gatwick but they are pulling out all the stops to get things delieverd before the next lot of snow. HDNL kept putting it on their delivery van but saying not possible to deliver because of weather despite being seen several times in the village . Amazon kindly re-sent it last week with City Link but it still seems to sitting at their depot and my OH is supposed to be taking it on a plane with him on Thursday to deliver to my Mum . I've just sent another chaser email for my Snow Shovel - hoping I won't get the same naff generice email that I got last week, that was almost rude in its contents! If they haven't arrived today I will have to phone family and insist they stop the cheques, I told them to do this at the beginning of the week but they told me to wait a few more days in case the cards arrived.
