I've got a few things in my Amazon basket which I think I'll order after Christmas (no hurry for them!)

 

Bit irritating that every time I've checked the basket the prices of one or two items have changed (usually upwards :evil: ). Will the prices go down after Christmas, do you reckon :pray: ?

 

Don't forget that VAT goes up at the beginning of January.

Still waiting for snow shovel. Since 27th November..... Beginnning to get more and more hacked off. They aren't that far away, and appreciate there is a backlog, but how long should I wait before saying this is a non delivery and request full refund? And as they are not responding to any emails, for all I know they may not have even sent it...

I'd be saying it was non-delivery now after all that time.

 

I ordered winter tyres which were coming from Germany (not Amazon). They were collected by DPD on the 9th December and 2 arrived yesterday but the other 2 are still in Germany. Haven't they heard the snow is coming I need them NOW!

Erm, is it me or does this imply that the goods have been scanned at the delivery depot twice in 8 days??

:roll::roll: So they have been sat there for over a week and still not 'out for delivery'. :lol:

I've just emailed them - books ordered on 4th Dec and despatched on the 8th have still not arrived, although a more recent order came within a few days. They were meant as gifts but it's too late now for me to send them on through the post. :(

 

I reckon the snow shovel was commandeered by a desperate postie to dig his way out of a snowdrift!

Yes, that sounds as if they haven't yet made it to the van for the delivery depot. I had that with Citylink and my Goodness Direct order this week.

Just had an email from Amazon this morning saying that they are not able to respond to orders as quickly as usual due to the backlog. They are dealing with things in the order of receipt.

 

They also said that items dispatched will be delivered it just make take some time as the couriers are backed up.

 

 

So not much use really. I have to say I used Amazon a lot this Christmas and have not been let down. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

 

I hope all your orders turn up in time.

We're also having problems with City Link, ordered from Ebuyer and have tracking number but City Link haven't updated their website since Wednesday night and I read on another forum that as of Wednesday night they weren't taking new deliveries to allow them to catch up with the backlog, I also found out that the guy at the top of the company has resigned as they are making such big losses & they admit that their cutbacks went too far and they closed too many depots and got rid off too many staff and are now subcontracting and paying out too much money!

 

I'm wondering if they'll go belly up or be bailed out by their parent company Rentokil.
