I was surprised I didn't do better in the rhythm section (3 highs, 5 meds, 1 low) - thought I was good at that . I found the grouping exercise really tricky. I think that at least three of the genres there were quite similar - maybe that is why I only got medium! I was quite good at judging the off or on beat and the melody memory and I only got 2 wrong, (mostly because I'm used to using that in Keyboard practical exams). Enthusiasm-low (28%) Mostly because I don't listen to a lot of music nowadays as I'm so busy, that's my excuse anyway. Perception-low (29%) I disagree with this one too... As quoted from the BBC website it means: This is perhaps the most traditional measure of musical skill and indicates how well you understand the qualities of music, such as rhythm, pitch, tuning and genre. You scored low for perception, which suggests that you don’t have a strong ear for music. You are likely to find it challenging to keep a beat or sing in tune, and you may also have difficulty in distinguishing between different instruments or musical genres. Your scores in the musical tests will give you a good idea of where your specific strengths and weaknesses lie. I can actually keep a beat though, and sing in tune, how else do they think I managed to be good enough to sing in a choir at the Royal Albert Hall??? I can certainly distinguish between instruments too, as I play keyboard and actually know the difference. (I'd agree with the genre bit though... Emotional-Low (23%) Social Creativity-Medium (67%) Curiosity-Low (23%) The group the music one was funny...I often got 2 right, then put them with a different 2... I think that I scored quite low because I very rarely tick - strongly agree - on any of these surveys. If there is a fence - I will generally sit on it!
