chuckmum6
Hello, we are planning on taking our carAvan to Sandringham for a few days any ideas of good child friendly places to visit? YS is 9, are there any good chicken places worth a visit? Thanks Edited May 27, 2011 by Guest
The Dogmother
The whole of the north Norfolk coast is lovely really. Hunstanton and Brancaster have lovely long beaches; Hunstanton being the only place on the east coast where you can see the sun set over the sea. Burnham Market is great for pottering around, and The Hoste Arms is fab for lunch. Enjoy yourselves!
Omletina Kyckling
Not sure if it's a children kind of place to go, but there's the big Norfolk Lavender place (which I'd love to go to!!)

Deb Dav
Crabbing in Wells next to the Sea was always a favourite with my sons

poppy ben grace
Hi, Holkham has a beautiful beach, worth the drive from sandringham.Have a great time, your children will love it!
Chicken Licken
Fish and chips on the quayside at Well next the sea. The biggest sandiest beach at Holkham and a trip to see the seals At Blakeney. There is a good bird viewing place at Cley next the sea which has lots of displays and does good bacon sandwiches!! Have a great break
Looney
I agree with all of the above! Snettisham Park is also very nice and has a farm and play area (and chickens!). Boring (but potentially useful advice): If you go to Hunstanton you don't have to pay for parking if you park on the cliff. Rather than follow the 'P' signs towards town, keep going until you see the sign for the cliff and you can park by the side of the road there for free - only a 10 min walk to town. Wells next the Sea: You can either park near the beach or in town but please bear in mind that it is a good walk from one to the other. If you want to park in town you usually need to be lucky or early! There is a place next to one of the main car parks in town that sells home made apple juice and cider - very nice! Brancaster: lovely beach - not a lot of other amenities or things to do. Watch out for the tide as you can either have an enormous beach or the total opposite! Enjoy! Cinnamon
Once again I hope to tap into local knowledge, I now know lots of places to go, but where is good to eat near Sandringham? Thanks

The parking and the cost is terrible in wells there is a little narrow guage railway that runs from the beach to the harbour currently £1.30 for adults £1.00 per child I have a static caravan on the pinewoods site next to the beach anyone heading there feel free to PM me for my plot No and park for free!! Lavenders_Blue
I second the suggestion for fish and chips at the quayside in Wells next the Sea, the chippy there is FAB! Holkham has a brilliant beach, although you need to go prepared (drinks, snacks, loo stop before you go) as there are no facilities there at all. Also, if you go to Holkham beach, it's probably best that you turn right when you hit the beach to find a spot. If you walk too far to the left (will make sense once you get down there) you may well come across the nudist beach Seal trips from Blakeney/Morston are good. How about a day in Cromer? If your kids enjoy those 2p arcade machines and that kind of thing, they'll find plenty to entertain them there. There also used to be a putting green in Cromer which I used to enjoy when I was a kid on family holidays. Don't know if it's still there though. I don't think we've ever paid for parking when we've stopped off at Wells-Next-the-Sea, usually because we park before you get there, by a field-I think it had alpacas in it! However it is quite a long way to go walking from town to the sea and back, but then it definitely is worth it and works up the appetite for a huge pile of fish and chips from French's!
