Good luck everyone for tomorrow. DD has 1st year GCSE results coming. She is prepared for 2 awful results in 2 maths exams. (the school trialled a new course and it didn't go at all well. They are already planning retakes for the students :() - the rest should fingers crossed be OK. I also have 2 nieces anxiously waiting for their full results.

Thanks :) . Was their new exam board AQA? My maths teacher said he was going to complain because he couldnt even do one of their maths questions (and hes got a degree in maths!) We went through the maths paper afterwards and I got less than half correct.... roll of the re-takes!

Thanks :D

That's a shame :( Good luck to DD anyway, hopefully they will lower the grade boundaries. Our grade boundaries for maths are really low this year (probably because the test was a lot harder than the past papers!) so I'm feeling more confident now! Edexcel just do two 1.5hr exams, non calc and calc. Good luck all :)

We were always the guinea pig year for new specifications, GCSE's and A Levels!

Hope its not as bad as they think, but at least they are prepared I guess?

I have a few friends waiting for results and a couple that got AS's last week who retook a couple GCSE exams.

Good luck everyone :D

Cinnamon, was just reading that your dd got her place at Surrey - congratulations! (I took an interest because I'm studying at Kent, which I saw was her 2nd choice).

Unfortunately, my ds's AS results were not as he planned and he's decided to retake the year (combo of house move/school move/lack of application/cockiness  ). Soooooo, this time next year I will be on tenderhooks waiting to two lots of AS's :silenced: followed the next year by two lots of A's. At least this time next year I will have completed my degree, so one less stress

That's your perspective Sarah, her's is classic teen-head-in-sand-live-for-the-moment.........maybe she'll take a detour which you haven't been told about

I remember the days of accosting the poor postie in your pjs as he walked up the road........he must have seen some sights on exam results days  ...........two things which have changed & many today won't recognise...results being sent and an early morning postal delivery.......god I feel old :anxious:

Good luck everyone {{hugs}}..........first year iGCSE results for us & DS next year........I can barely contain my excitement

ES 15 did express Geography and got high A. The other bits were A's and B's except English which he got a C. Hes got time to improve before next year.He will retake it in Sept? He tells me his mates are being paid for their results - news to me. Only one wage coming in so he might get his new phone. In my day you did it for yourself not your parents (waves her walking stick in rage  ) He turned up at some ungodly hour with 2 mates - OH in shower and adv my hubby who often walks around naked :anxious: to put some clothes on before coming down - dont want to shock yoof of today.

How do you get your results that early? The earliest we can get ours is 10 :S . Its gonna be a bit busy in the drama studio (where we pick them up), with 500 people (year 10 & 11) getting their results. I'm meeting up with my friends half an hour later, hopefully it will have calmed down a bit by then!

It's up to the school to decide what time, for us it's 10:30... not a fun wait!
