DD just phoned with 1st year GCSE results (so halfway point in some subjects only) - she got 5A*, 3A's (including 1 in the 1 maths paper that made her cry) and a B in the other maths paper (that also made her cry). She also got a B in short course PE. Phew, huge sigh of relieve all round. That's it now until next year with A levels and GCSEs back to back. :anxious:

Well done everyone.

DS collected his thi morning. He took a couple early but has ended up with 9 A*, 1A and 1B (in German - I really don't like the way that Modern Languages have been taught at his school but that's another story!) He also got an A in an AS that he took in World Development and and A in additional maths so he is really chuffed.

I have just left him wallowing in the mud at Reading.

He and his mates all went to collect their results wearing "onesies" (I didn't know what these were but they are sort of sleep suits - he is on my FB page for those who know me there!) The Headteacher was surprisingly chilled by this!

That's so true. I don't mind telling family but I have just said to friends that he has done well. I think it is something in us that doesn't like to feel that we are showing off.

I wasn't going to put what he got on here but so many people have done so well that it is just like a great big celebration so I have let myself show off a little as well!

one C (which im going to resit), one B, 2 As and 3 A*s! :D:dance:

* thats for my first year

Well done :D Don't forget that your controlled assessment results will be combined so they could well pull your results up a little if you have done well in them. Plus you have next year. :D

it was english literature that I got a C for, and you dont do controlled assesments for them (I dont think so, anyway). I care more about language anyway (and ive got mainly A*s for them! :D )
