Miniature white bearded Silkies!

 

They are teeny tiny and totally enchanting. I didnt go to buy Silkies but with these being such lovely quality it would have been rude not to buy them

They are lovely - i think a little bow on a pigtail on the head would look nice (like yorkies) then you could see their eyes. what are they and what colour eggs do they lay?

Beautiful! How could you NOT have them??I am very , you are sooo lucky to be able to keep so many hens, i want a smallholding/ bigger garden!(jumps up and down like a spoilt child)!!

My attitude to different breeds of chicken is changing. I never really fancied Silkies until recently. I am v

They really are gorgeous. I bought an while they were on discount and it is empty waiting for some ex-battery girls to move in. I haven't recieved an email yet to say I can have some if they don't hurry and get back to me I will have to go out and buy some as I can't stand the wait.

lolalayla, I have heard of a couple of Scots who keep silkies but I really don't think they like the cold, wet and windy conditions we have for much of the winter I would love them but am not convinced they would like it much. Have to stick with hardy breeds for now.

I am really about that. YS saw the lovely Silkie photos and is convinced we should get some. However looking at today's weather the poor things would be in a terrible state.

I wonder if anyone on the forum does keep Silkies in an exposed situation and can advise us? Although wet and windy here the climate is usually reasonably mild, although like most folks we did have some snow last year.
