Janepie33
A running disagreement with friends on Facebook. Some think they do. Some think they don't. What do Omleteers think?!

Yorkshire Pudding
I was a Pixie Sixer when I was a Brownie. I don't think the pixie on my badge had wings Mind you I was a pretty rubbish Brownie and it was a LONG time ago!
The Dogmother
I don't think so, Fairies have wings, but I don't think that pixies, elves or gnomes do... but then it's all open to interpretation.
patsylabrador
In my mind, which is an odd little place, pixies don't have wings. Lovely thread by the way.
Olly
Well, isn't it interesting - as soon as I read the title to this, I had a picture of a Pixie in my head! Probably an amalgamation of Flower Fairies, various children's books, and the Brownies' badge (I was a Pixie sixer as well!) I think they do, but just little gauzy ones, they couldn't actually fly with them. If they didn't have wings, how would you know it was a pixie? bigmommasally
Tinkerbell in Peter Pan is a Pixie and uses Pixie dust and she has wings. But the cornish pixie that is often shown hugging its knees doesn't have wings Therefore I am no help at all I too was a Pixie at Brownies & I have my brownie badge somewhere I'll see if that has wings .... Edited: No wings on my Brownie badge!
craftyhunnypie
Pixies & fairies have wings! Leprachauns, brownies, sprites & imps don't. They are just magiacal mini people. Cute! Too many Enid Blyton books! Emma.x
Griffin
In my head a pixie is a smaller version of a fairy, really really tiny. She'd still have wings though. When I grow up I want wings, big white feathery ones like Claire Danes wore in Romeo & Juliet.
Egluntyne
I was a Pixie Sixer when I was a Brownie. I don't think the pixie on my badge had wings Ditto !! I don't remember wings on my badge either.

Alis girls
Might have clip on ones for those times when a girl has to fly - like when a big ugly gnome is coming on to her - apologies to any big ugly gnomes out there - I was a fan of Big Ears

pips_pekins
Tinkerbell in Peter Pan is a Pixie and uses Pixie dust and she has wings Sorry, don't want to start an argument but I think Barrie describes Tinkerbell as a fairy not a pixie In my head a pixie is a smaller version of a fairy, really really tiny. She'd still have wings though. When I grow up I want wings, big white feathery ones like Claire Danes wore in Romeo & Juliet. I also think that pixies are smaller than fairies with very little wings that are useless for flying but good for jumping up high (like chickens' wings ) Asked OH this morning as he was getting ready for work! Bless him, he didn't even raise an eyebrow Anyway, he thinks pixies are male fairies and therefore must have wings
The Dogmother
I was an Elf in Brownies. There are pixies in my work phone this morning - the display is playing up something chronic!
Bramble
The pixies in Harry Potter have wings .... (although, if they lose their wings, apparently they can still fly without them )
Angie
As many on this thread were brownies, so too was i in the days when we had fairies, i was a fairy sixer and i do believe pixies have wings . If not how could they fly in and out of the gardens tending the flowers ?

By their little pointy ears, pointy hats and pointy shoes, of course! My husband agrees that pixies don't have wings, but says that they can fly. Alis girls
I think Goblins get a bad press - i didnt like the ones in Noddy much - Gobbo (I think his name was) used to scare my ES but he wouldnt admit to it now being 15 and 6ft - his mates would never let him forget. Big Ears was a kindly soul. Oh those were the days - I was a girls brigader - always wanted to be a brownie. I think we all have different ideas on fairy folk. They prob have discussions on their websites re humans.
