Flaming June and sodden July

Recommended Posts

Claret, you didn't have to send it again! Once was enough!

We seem to have had 4 storms now in the last 3 hours. My patio is inches deep in water, my herb garden is flooded and I can't get to the chickens. :(

I'm very tempted to put on The Sound of Music and sing a few of my favourite things!

 You start and I'll join in then Ginette

then it got heavier,

then we had thunder and lightening,

then more rain,

then I got back home and guess what.......

well.....

yep....

you've got it........

it stopped raining.......

At least you'll be prepared to run in any weather Couperwife

Collected Abi from school yesterday, got absolutely drenched

Took Abi to school this morning and had to remove layers before i got there, it was lovely and warm

So many children are ill at school at the moment, it has to be something to do with the weather, surely.

I actually quite like runing in the rain (sorry, mad, I know)

Been in Knowle all morning, stuck in a meeting and the weather was fine - left to drive back to the office and it's pouring

I actually like running in the rain too, as long as I have a hat on.

rubbish about the meeting, you should have postponed the meeting until it started raining

It's lovely here too Sarah, sadly I'm too busy with catching up with housework to enjoy it, but I'm hoping that it'll stay fine for tomorrow when I'm meeting up with some of the Surrey Omleteers for lunch.

(BTW anyone from Surrey or nearby reading this, do come and join us if you can, details are in the Get-Togethers section  ).

Lovely here too, not too hot but not getting my feet wet in my Crocs. I've mowed the front lawn and I'm waiting for Mum and James to come home so that I can mow the back (I promised I wouldn't do it till he got home). Cleaned out the Eglu and ready to go on the garden.

Problem is I've been ill and I still feel totally exhausted. REally want to get some grass seed down cos its showing rain for the next three days but I'm not sure I'm up to turning the soil.

Well I thought about it . . .and really should (especially as we have a new one to disinfect) but it seemed a bit too warm and I was very tired . . .

We watched The Amazing Mr Blunden instead - and I fell asleep and missed most of it! I feel much better now though so maybe this evening I will tackle the eglus.

BEAUTIFUL day here !! :D:D:D

Warm sunshine and blue cloudless sky all day. The chooks have had a whale of a time in the garden and so have I !!

We bought them one of those nice wooden garden parasols to go over the eglu run.....looks fab and keeps the wet out and gives them nice shade :)

With the little energy I had I cleaned the Eglu and mowed the lawn. The eglu was in need of a good scrub and the lawn hadn't been touched for a fortnight.

It's been nice here too! bit windy, cloudy but not too rainy at last.

We are getting a new roof on tuesday so I will be expecting the monsoons to return when have removed the old one

Been out to Stokesley today to stock up on Hemcore, Organic pellets and mixed grit. We picked up another feeder too and some stinky horsey garlic pellets.

We did a full monthly overhaul (two weeks after the last) and fitted a shower curtain to keep the new feeder dry. Had to test it with the hosepipe cos I'm a big kid really!

The chooks much prefer the new traditional feeder to the Grub

At least they can all eat at the same time now rather than having to queue.

I think I might use the grub to feed poulty grit.

The White Imperial Empire hens all decide to have a dust bath in the same square foot of dust next to the house, all four on top of each other very funny :lol:

Kev.

I think we need more compost bins! we had nowhere to put the old run bedding
