Uggs

Recommended Posts

I've had mine for 2 years now and they're still as good as new. I've stood for over an hour in a foot of snow and nothing gets through. You can get waterproofing spray to coat them in - it doesn't show and just helps seal them a bit better. I've done mine once and that was a year ago and they're still fine. I have had cheaper ones and they did not last but these Ugg Australia ones are great and I love them. Worth the money i think! :D

There was an article in the Daily Mail on Thursday about fake Uggs - a bit sensationalist, as is often the case  - but interesting neverhtheless. Clearly, as is generally the case, you get what you pay for and its worth going the extra for the real thing :) which, clearly, is the general plan in this case!!!!!!

I don't have any but have freinds who do and they rave about them! I have never managed to work out, tho, why such clearly cold weather gear comes from Australia which is hardly known for its glaciers and penguin population  Possibly a surfeit of sheep?

I have a pair of Ugg Ultimates which have chunky soles, and are fabulous. I use waterproofing spray on them which really helps and wore them through the awful last winter (with Yaktraks on them)

I also have a pair of Bearpaw boots from TK Maxx which have a very chunky reinforced sole and they are also very good, and a pair of knee hi Kiwi Sheepskin boots which are gorgeous.

I don't like the Uggs or Ugg style boots with the fashion crepe soles, and understand they are very slippery in wet conditions.

I have the Ugg Bailey Button in chestnut and they are lovely. Over 12 months old and still like new.

I had a cheapy pair of non Uggs from Next and they were very slippery to wear. I have not slipped in my Uggs yet. I have problematic wide "cornish pasty" feet and nothing fits my feet better than Uggs - they are well worth the money IMO and I would live in mine if I could! Bought mine from Cloggs online. :D

Yes there has been a lot about them being copied with ie dog fur etc and in very inhumane ways, so its worth making sure they are the real mcCoy. I agree not sure where Australia features in warm footwear??

An Aussie friend says they're worn as slippers during their winter and they think it's hilarious that people here go slopping around outside in their slippers!

Yep that's right :P

Obviously in a country with a lot of sheep, there is a lot of Sheepskin,so I guess its sort of a natural conclusion to make boots out of it all

My Aussie cousins all wear them as slippers & find it hard to believe that there is such a huge demand for them as outerwear here.
