Bramble
Well done! I'm pleased they found something, so hopefully you can work on a plan of campaign with the Dr and get rid of the little wotsits. Keep us posted.
craftyhunnypie
I don't think our doctors mess about, as have been talking to someone of similar age to me & works in village shop. She had them as bad as me & has had her gallbladder removed. Ringing docs first thing tomorrow to make appointment for the results & to see what he is going to do. Adelochick
Do hope your pain has settled now, and that you get an early appointment at GP to find out scan results and the options open to you for treatment. All the best, take care, Jx.
Seagazer
I'm glad you finally found out what was wrong. Sorry you have gallstones though, but if you have to have your gallbladder out, you will be fine. My mum had hers out about 30 odd years ago and is fine (as are the rest of my extended family who have all had theirs out ).
chickencam
I hope that you get some more answers from the doctor and that you are soon on the road to recovery.
craftyhunnypie
Am at Doctors Thursday morning. Wondering whether I could have a pancake tonight as they are just flour, egg & milk. No fat ( ie: marg ) in them. We have always, always used fry light for any frying we ever have to do. So fat would be minimal. Hmm Fed up of dry toast & jam. Everyone I know who has had gallstones & / or gallbladder removed lived on toast & jam before surgery! Touch wood, not had pain recently - odd twinges that haven't become full blown pain, but my diet is sooooo bland that there isn't much fat to aggrevate it. It will appear again no doubt. LolaLayla
Hope you can have something a bit more interesting to eat soon. That must get you down as well as feeling ill Fingers crossed that you get more answers from the doc.
craftyhunnypie
Have just been the village shop / post office & my friend there says it was 8 months before her operation! Oh my god - that would make it around my birthday! Will know more after the Docs tomorrow. Emma.x
Goosey Lucy
A friend of mine discovered she could eat marshmallows, would that help to vary things a bit? Not nutritious I know but it's a little treat?
craftyhunnypie
Have discovered jelly bean hearts from Julian Graves are ok. The friend who had the gallstones put me onto them! Ah yes marshmallows are quite low in fat. Sugar is ok, its just the fat I have to watch. Thanks! Emma.x
Chickendoodle
Having suffered myself I found any "jelly" based sweet was fine - jelly bellys, jelly beans, wine gums etc. Hope they recommend the op as you will be as right as rain within a week or so
Purplemaniacs
Have you been to the doctors yet? If not I hope it goes well and you get some answers. Chrissie
craftyhunnypie
Have been the docs & am now scared stiff. Got to have an ERCP (?). Basically a tube put down my throat & into my gallbladder with a light & camera on. They then insert ' tools' to try & break up the gallstones & get them all out! I am absolutely petrified of this procedure! I may or may not have to stay in overnight. If they can't get them out that way, then I will have to be operated on & whether they just take they stones or the gallbladder - will be up to the consultant. Got to wait for the appointment letter from the consultant now. The Doc has marked it as urgent. I cried when I came home. I don't feel like being prodded & poked. I can't think about this tube thing! Emma.x
Space Chick
They will probably give you some sedation, I know the sedation they give you for procedures like this have amnesiac effects, so if it's any consolation you probably won't remember it ((hugs)) xx
Purplemaniacs
Oh dear that does sound scarey Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows something about ERCP and can put your mind at rest a little. Thinking of you. Chrissie
Seagazer
Try not to worry, I'm sure they'll give you something to sedate you. If you explain how you are feeling they will help.
Plum
Perhaps you can have someone with you to talk to you and play music to stop you being anxious. Get rid of them horrid painmakers. Relief in sight, take care x
NannyOgg
I'm sure you've already read this, but just in case...a brief overview of what to expect http://www.patient.co.uk/health/ERCP.htm Fingers crossed you get an early date for procedure... craftyhunnypie
I've sort of lost 3 days through trouble with my gallstones. Yes I am waiting for the consultant's letter to arrive for the ERCP, but it hasn't been too nice these last few days. Hubby has been very good with me & looked after me - but I feel a dreadful wifey - leaving him to do the chooks & domestic stuff whilst I'm in pain, being sick & sleeping! Awful awful! Can hardly keep any foods down at the mo. The only thing I've kept down these last 3 days is Apple Juice. I can drink gallons of the stuff. Apparently it is good stuff for gallstones. I just want to feel better & get cured, so I can fully enjoy our smallholding. I do feel like sleeping beauty - could sleep for 100 years. I do have the spinning wheel too - that I really want to use!! Argh! Sorry to be a bother. Emma.x
Chook n Boo Mum
Emma...you are not a bother ...you didn't ask to be poorly, silly noodle Hope the consultant letter arrives soon & you are sorted really quickly Sha x

Plum
Poor you, don't get dehydrated. You won't though you'll sprout branches first . Are you keeping painkillers down? Sending motivating thoughts to your consultant to get that letter sent. xx

Patricia W
Is it worth going back to the GP who might be able to send a rocket over to the consultant? Or phone the consultant's secretary and find out where the letter has gone?
