Jules.
My dad was an avid train spotter, he even got me my own proper book in which he underlined the trains I had seen that day, or "copped" as it is known His idea of a great day out was to go to somewhere like Crewe to stand on the station, taking me & my mum with him There were no Claire's Accessories shops then
Looney
Memories.... Fishing for newts in the "swamp" down the lane Always having scabby knees and nettle stings Digging up worms to feed to the neighbour's chickens Friday treats - Friday was the only day we were allowed a chocolate bar Making crinkle-cut chips and marmalade (not together) at my Gran's house Making daisy chains that were endless Aah, happy days! ali-s
I remember chasing Butterflies in the field at the end of our garden and trying to catch them using a fishing net. Running around the garden on a Summers evening not wanting to go to bed with my Dad in hot pursuit, being caught, tickled and given a pretend telling off. Buying a bag of pickled onion monster munch every Friday with my 2 pence pocket money.

Always in the summer holidays and usually down to Bournmouth. my and my brother used to sleep in the car (no seatbelts, just lying along the back seat with a quilt and a couple of pillows) I also remember all the children on the street playing hide and seek (we called it ackey 1 2 3 - goodness only knows why
