AndreaT
Fizz took a trip to the vets this morning to have her damaged wing removed. The vet was really pleased with how it went and said there was no problems at all. It seems that Fizz has just sailed through it, she even laid a huge egg whilst in the middle of the op! It's a massive 87g, another double yolker I think. Here she is in the hospital wing where she'll have to stay on her own for about a week. You would never know what she's been through only a few hours earlier. Aren't animal amazing! On another note, Cristal has gone broody again! She's back in the sin bin for a few days but she should get some respite from the feather pecking that's been going on. My vet offered me some eggs for her to sit on, it's a good job the spare coop is in use or I would have been very tempted!

AndreaT
Thanks everyone! She doesn't seem bothered at all, she's busy exploring the run, shouting at the top of her voice in the rain while the others have gone off to bed

Space Chick
I have an ex batt who broke her wing in the cage and it set strangely, she does look odd with her misshapen wing, but it's never caused her any problems Well done you though for getting Fizz her operation Hope she continues in her road to recovery

AndreaT
Fizz is doing really well, she laid another egg today! The vet couldn't figure out why her wing had stopped working, she still had feeling in it but she couldn't move it. It had dropped so much that she would hit the front of it with her foot everytime she took a step and she kept standing on it. I was getting worried that she was going to hurt herself coming down the ramp from the ! I was lucky that the vet had performed this twice before, on a goose and a turkey, I'm not sure I would have been happy for her to have had it done otherwise.
