Redwing
I have seven hens of different breeds in a pen with a Welsummer cockerel, they are all 'odds' in that they are either recovering from being broody or recovering from breeding or showing so apart from being fed and watered they are just being left to relax and be chickens They dont sleep in the coop they sleep in the run so apart from flipping up the coop roof to check for red mites I havent taken much notice of the goings on and didnt think there was any eggs to collect Imagine my surprise this evening to hear from hubby that there was a hen and chicks running around the run earlier! They'll be an awful mish mash of cross breed chicks but I cant help but admire the broody who must have been under or behind the coop I guess
