The Dogmother
Ooo, lovely do let me know if you're breeding Welsummer banties. I wonder if he will beat Egluntyne's OH with regards to not noticing.. I remember that it took him weeks to notice an eglu in the garden. Chortle Chook
Did the Frizzles come from Di or Jenny or someone else? Were there any golden Frizzles? I'd love one of those. Still I just have to 'love away' as OH would certainly notice any additions and I'm rather hoping to sneak in a couple of Fresians next year. daxigirl
They were all very lovely looking if they're the ones I saw in the sale pens. Congratulations. I'm collecting a gold tone silkie girl to replace Brillo and be a friend for Costa. I was disappointed they didn't have anything like that at the sale. Had the spare cat box and everything for just in case.
laurmurf
Lots of 'Clockers' for sale (silkie x Sussex): chap put 20 pens in and sold them all straight away! Hope Eric is settling in, Tasha?
Plum
Not heard them called Clockers. I could do with a couple just now to keep my feet warm. I think your husband decides when to acknowledge them Tasha
Redwing
Well he hasnt noticed yet! Shows how often he deals with the chickens in the garden as one of the new chooks has a long tail and one is snow white and frizzly so both very distinctive! The pair of Frizzles (one frizzle one plain feathered) came from a breeder in Devon, they also breed barred Wyandottes so we did a bit of a swap the best deals at the big shows happen in the car parks not in the sale pens The Sumatra male is finally beginning to quieten down now and no longer hits the roof if you go to fill up his feed. He is a glorious specimen but I am feeling the pressure of keeping that lovely tail undamaged! They seem to be incredibly flighty birds and quite agressive towards others The Frizzles by contrast are more like the Wyandottes, they have a generally sunny outlook on life and are remarkably easy going I cant remember is the word 'clocker' is an Irish or Northern thing but its a very commonly used term for the gold top
Chortle Chook
I love frizzles - even the smooth ones make sweet pets. Can we have a picture of your Sumatra male? He sounds very handsome.
