smartrus
I am sad. I have been out to shut in the hens and there are only 9!(usually 10) Daisy is missing. We have al been up the garden with torches and there is no sign. Either she has found an amazing place to hide or something has happened to her She was merrily FR in the garden with the others before dark so I know she was around, any thoughts? I am hoping she will be wandering around in the morning or I will have 2 upset children. I will check next door but its a long shot. counturchickens
We 'lost'' one once, she was roosting under some decking. I found her after crawling around with a torch in the rain. Hopefully your girl will turn up in the morning!

craftyhunnypie
I hope Daisy returns home safely. I've had this before now. Once the leghorns were high up in the trees! Another time Marlene was sat on 12 eggs in a beautiful nest she'd made. Another time Fanny Annie tootled out of the garage in the morning. Fingers crossed for her safe return. smartrus
Oh my word that was a scare! I went out this morning and started rustling the food bag and heard a cooing noise. It took me ages to find out where it was coming from. Then there she was, under a tarpaulin which was covering a cement mixer!Oh my word! She was wrapped up in it and had obviously found a great dry hiding place. I tell you what, you don't realise how much you get attached to them until you think something has happened to them!
