Ain't Nobody Here
Lovely . Just hope they stop going on and on and on about it now and leave them in peace .
The Dogmother
Sadly, I don't think they will I thought it was a girl too, but lovely news and I'm just glad that they are well and healthy. I hope that they've kissed his wee hands and feet, and sniffed that soft head *sighs*
Charlottechicken
I was also convinced it was going to be a girl, guess why I don't gamble Congratulations to them both and especially to Catherine for doing her duty and producing an heir! patsylabrador
Henry VIII could have done with a Kate Middleton. Happy news.
chickencam
Great news I had been watching the rolling news since 4pm left the room to take photo of YD with newly dyed red hair and missed the announcement. Glad that they took a little time for themselves before the news became public propery.
Charlottechicken
Names? I'm betting on Albert (Bertie) or George. Seeing a lot of little boys named Jack Daniel at the mo, wonder if the Royal couple will follow suit?!
Chickendoodle
Would be nice to have a Prince Arthur
Ain't Nobody Here
Just wondering what would happen if she'd had twins ? First past the post gets to be king?
Purplemaniacs
DD and I were wondering that and decided who ever was born first would be king or queen. Chrissie
The Dogmother
I think I remember reading that that was the protocol. Anyone else reckon they will call him George?
soapdragon
For some strange reason I am thinking Leopold - don't know why and I partly hope not for the little mites sake but it could be shortened to Leo! (Possibly Queen Victoria had a Leopold?) Kate and William do seem to do things slightly differently so maybe they will go for something not quite so traditional! Jennifer Jane
Names? I'm betting on Albert (Bertie) or George. I was thinking Albert/Bertie too. With maybe a Welsh name in there - Trevor? My colleague and I like the sound of King Keith, but don't see that happening...
Bramble
Wonder if they might try and sneak Spencer in as one of his names (not the first, I imagine) for Diana?
sadietoo
My colleague and I like the sound of King Keith, but don't see that happening... We were only saying the other day that Keith isn't a name you hear so much these days, perhaps that could spark a revival! Personally I feel very sorry for the poor little soul. Today someone was ranting on the radio about all children being born equal, but whilst priveliged in many ways, this little'un has his future mapped out for him, whether he likes it or not. That's not equal imo.
Princess Leia
Re the media coverage, and to paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill (who became the model for all babies), "never before, in the field of human history has so much been said about so little, for so long..." A friend suggested that they should honour the Greek side of the family and call him Stavros! My money is on a name like James, with a Scottish link. Also (as Bramble mentioned) using Spencer as a middle name.
Cinnamon
Lovely news, & didn't they look happy when they left hospital? Kate looked wonderful - not at all like a woman who has just given birth, although my sister did say she was walking a bit funny I reckon they may honour their brothers with the middle names, so James Henry (as opposed to Henry James!), may be there. Maybe something traditional but more unusual like Louis , Alexander or Arthur? I love the prospect of another King Arthur
Purplemaniacs
My money is on a name like James, with a Scottish link. Also (as Bramble mentioned) using Spencer as a middle name. Someone said that it was unlikely to be James as too many close relatives are already called James. DD was very worried that if it had been a girl it may have been called Alexandra which was faourite in some polls , DD called her baby that and didn't want there to be lots in her school year. Cinnamon
Final prediction: Arthur James Henry Spencer.

Plum
If you're going to name him Keith you may as well name him Kevin as well
patsylabrador
He looks like a George or an Albert with his little angry face. Thank goodness for this forum, you wouldn't believe the man-moaning on Twitter. If it's not bad news it's not news apparently. I've loved seeing all the cheery crowds and union flags and it's traditional for a nation to celebrate the arrival of a new heir.

Purplemaniacs
He is a lovely little chap but then I love all babies. I hope they now have the chance to spend some time as a family without the press there all the time. I too liked to see the tradition and the excitment but now the new family need time for themselves. Chrissie
patsylabrador
I just read in the paper that Prince George of Cambridge, born 1819 was a rather scandalous and racy fellow, so perhaps not a George then.
