The Dogmother
I feel a Greenham Moment coming on.... After 9 weeks without a shower (I will spare you the saga) I have told Bathstore that I will be taking a good book with me and 'installing' myself on the floor, right inside the door of our local branch until they can supply me with a replacement shower unit. I shall be inviting the local rag to come and take photos and interview me! Words cannot express how useless they are, and how angry and fed up I am with them. Blackrocksrock
Oh not good to cross you me thinks - 9 weeks is much too long to wait for a replacement - I hope they come up trumps before you get militant! good luck!!
chickencam
Good luck, hopefully it won't come to that. Makes me glad that I have tarted up our bathroom instead of getting a new one from Bath Store, which is what we were going to do, but couldn't agree on what we wanted. The Dogmother
You can all join me if you like... Bring your knitting or whatever you are working on. Madam has said that she will join me if it gets to that, and will summon all her friends to drop by too. A store full of noisy teenagers should work a treat
Chucky Mama
I feel your pain! Some companies customer service is appauling. Personally I find a well worded post on their Facebook page works wonders - might be worth joining Facebook for situations like this Bathstore have 14,000+ followers. Currently it looks like they respond to customer complains there pretty quickly.

The Dogmother
Good idea CM, not sure I can face joining FB though and having everyone I know, plus all their friends contacting me to 'be friends' I can always threaten to put it on their FB, or get Rosie to do it...... Alis girls
When are you planning this? You could get a friend to sit in all their baths with a good book or better still on their toilets assuming they sell them. Any friends potty training kids - get them to get their kids to use the toilets - oh i could go on and on. Oh the mess the mayhem - this would get you on the front page of your local rag and possibly in a prison cell too keep us updated and with photos - I love womens lib - chains and bra burning - I was too young for Greenham but wouldve been there - my mother would have disowned me. Facebook sounds a good option too. Good luck - power to your shower

WitchHazel
Good idea CM, not sure I can face joining FB though and having everyone I know, plus all their friends contacting me to 'be friends' I can always threaten to put it on their FB, or get Rosie to do it...... Set up a separate email address especially to sign up to Facebook. Use this email address ONLY for Facebook. Facebook uses address books to try and encourage people to connect to each other. If you don't use your real email address, then you won't come up on other people's searches. Don't add a photo. When people seaarch by name, they will find plenty of people with your name, and they won't realise its you. Facebook and Twitter are very effective, from the complaners point of view. The Dogmother
That's a good tip Hazel, I didn't know that. We MAY be part way to getting this sorted.... they are offering me a complete new unit at cost price, ideally (after all the hassle) I'd like it to be free
soapdragon
C - if this is to be 'Ghandi like' I have visions of you sitting in one of their baths in a loincloth thingy with a book! The Banbury Times will have a field day and this should certainly get results! I am sure that Rosie will add greatly to the ambiance with her teenage gang - go, girls, go!!! Why should we all put up with appalling customer service? Its about time we took a stand....or sit!
The Dogmother
I was quite looking forward to my little 'sit-in'. but it looks like the threat might have worked, as I had a call today from central customer dis-service, who are now sorting it out and have promised to deliver a new shower to the Banbury store tomorrow ready for me to collect and have installed... with their past history, I shan't hold my breath!! The bloke in the showroom is under strict instructions to text me as soon as it arrives, and to open the box to check we have the right one. I wouldn't mind, but the original shower wasn't cheap at all, but their ineffectual attempts to get me the right part to repair it just went on... and on... and on.... Sadly I was too distracted by work and private stuff to get nasty with them at an earlier stage.
soapdragon
So the headline' Lady in large nappy in bathroom store sit in shock horror' is unlikely to grace our dailies then!? DO hope that the right part appears at the appropriate time, so to speak!!

The Dogmother
Well, they managed to sort it out at the 11th hour a call from Bathstore central Customer Dis-service and I had a replacement (new) shower to pick up on Friday evening after work. It was installed yesterday and works wonderfully, although the design is different, so the taps on the shower don't match those on the basin or bath Why on earth did it take them so long to get their act together and sort it out in a timely fashion?! I would have been firmer with them sooner, but 'stuff' at work and at home just got in the way. Having said that, there's no way that I should have had to waste so many hours on the phone, and in the branch, just to sort out the problems caused by their inadequate customer care and inefficient suppliers. Valkyrie
Glad it's sorted finally - perhaps they need to give you matching taps as they were the ones messing it all up and fit them as compensation for all the hassle. Probably the last one was end of the batches and they made slightly different ones after that.
The Dogmother
It seems that they changed suppliers not long after I bought mine, so the design and the tech spec both changed and none of the new parts fit the older models and the previous suppliers just won't supply the parts required to provide any sort of back up or support..... NOT what I'd call joined up customer care!!! I am going to look tonight and see if I can change the taps over - perhaps they will fit.
