Peaches Geldof

Recommended Posts

I am so sad to hear of the death of this bright, fun & entertaining young woman, who had finally seemed to get her life back on track.

He poor father & family must be devastated.

If you have not seen it, Bob made the following statement, which I think is very beautiful, dignified & real:

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

'Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?

'We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.

'Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.'

I didn't know much about her tbh, but when I saw an archive clip of her giving the ghastly Katie Hopkins a truly impressive slapping, last night on the news, I was beyond impressed. We have lost someone with great potential. So sorry for her family.

I remember watching it at the time. She was so very good at holding her own and not allowing KH beat her down.

True, it's sad and I feel for her family - especially for Bob who has had more than his fair share of tragedy to deal with. But is it just me that thinks that the news coverage is totally OTT again? Over 10 minutes of last nights BBC 10 O'Clock news devoted to it (but no mention of Mickey Rooney's death the same day at all). Daily Fail has half a dozen separate articles on it, mostly speculating on possible causes, etc, etc.

I had really enjoyed her journey from wild child to a woman with real media clout, & thought the Katie Hopkins interview was brilliant.

It is such a shame that she has gone & so young. She had such potential & was a very intelligent & interesting woman.

I did wonder about depression, but it seems the meds were called out to a woman in distress & then found her dead at the scene. I am thinking heart attack, maybe?

I don't think she is being remembered for arguing, more for holding her own with a woman who is renowned for bulling people by talking loudly over the top of them, until they back down. But she didn't. I think she is more remembered for turning her life around, as she was a bit of a wild child, and devoting her life to her family and writing for Mother and Baby magazine.
