Chickabee
Watching crafts ive just seen my all time favourite, the clumber spaniel. I would love one, does anyone have one (not for me to steal)
Valkyrie
I had to look what it was - never heard of it before. They certainly do look very gentle animals.
Chickabee
Oh they're just gorgeous. I had springers when I was younger, but the Clumbers have always caught my eye
mollyripkim
My daughter used to show one for someone, lovely gentle girl but my goodness such a lot of dribble.
bluekarin
They are so gorgeous aren't they. I looked into them before getting my cocker spaniel, but the drool and the snorning, whch can apparently be quite loud, put me off
Chickabee
Ok. Gone off them straight away. Don't do drooling and dribbling . Back to Labradors
CatieB
OMG each to theur own. My neighbour has one and i think they are sooo ugly. Doesnt do it for me. Good job we all have idfferent tastes!
soapdragon
OH parents used to have two....dribbly and disobedient! They were willful and hard to train; MIL, who had the patience of a saint, almost gave up on Gussie (their 2nd!) Having said that they were loyal and, at times, quite soppy! They were orignally bred at Clumber Park in Nottingham as gun dogs and both PIL's dogs adored being out in the woods. So much so that they quite often refused to come back!!! Eggasperated
We were watching and fell in love with the Chesapeake Retriever. Looked at some gorgeous chocolate coloured puppies on-line, but as there are only 150 puppies bred in the UK each year I don't think we'll be getting one any time soon. Princess Leia
A friend had one, which she "adopted" from someone who was emigrating. Agree with the dribbling/drooling comments, though and it couldn't be trusted off-lead. It also seem to be plagued with health issues and finished up being PTS at a relatively early age, sadly. Chucky Mama
They are not the most well designed of breeds. They have issues with eyes, ears, skin & hips amongst other things. They are also dribbly and smelly. Temperament wise they are OK as far as I am aware.
Luvachicken
Ok. Gone off them straight away. Don't do drooling and dribbling . Back to Labradors I can't stand dog dribble either. I would have another cocker spaniel at the drop of a hat.
mullethunter
I'm with you CatieB. I'm sure I'd love it if I had one but even the fit ones look fat. Not for me - more for the rest of you
