It really does making a difference knowing there are friends out there rooting for you. Dad still knows nothing about it (unless those sneaky pets told him ) and I have an evening meeting tonight, which means I won't get home till late. Thinking I might say nothing till I get home from work tomorrow and then just give him the confirming letter to read, whilst I put something fizzy and alcoholic to chill in the fridge. And the pets hadn't said a word I highlighted the relevant bit of the letter and just gave it him to read, then waved the bottle of fizzy at him. At first he thought it related to my current job and they were extending my hours to full time, till he saw it was from a different council altogether. As it's subject to a six-month probationary period, we're not making any big future plans yet.
