The Missing 2

Recommended Posts

I am hoping some intelligent Omleteers are following this as I am attempting to and failing dismally. It appears I am not alone so -

1 Why has the detective guy gone to Far East?

2 They arrested butcher due to receipt found in the underground place but why did Alice freak when army guy was talking to her at end of episode 2?

3 Whose the young black soldier and what was he wiping up off the floor in Episode 1.#

Am hoping Andyroo or someone is watching as I am gripped by story but confused. Papers have implied that viewers are confused - and had to laugh as they are now saying someone shoud buy Alice some vaseline for her lips

Thanks confused chicken mum London :D

It is jumping around a bit from place to place and time to time.

I think the guy they are looking for in the Far East knows a secret of his fathers, who was a colleague/friend of the army guy.

My theory is that she freaked out with him as he and the Far East guys father and butcher may be involved in some kind of paedophile ring, but could be something completely different.

Never saw The Missing 1. Accidently saw the first episode. (I blame GBBO...)

Black guy seems to be involved in the missing part. Father of Alice is in the army too. So might have known eachother.

Young black guy was the dad of old black guy who they are looking for.

It is very gripping and unnerving though!

Why did "Alice" say that last bit to the army commander when he showed the photo of the butcher?

I don't know... if the parents are convinced it's her? Why doubt that?

Don't think they would do that in real life either. And she has the tattoo. But as a parent, you would check for birthmarks or something right? You had the kid for so many years. You must know some other details.

Ive been totally gripped and like Cattails only started watching accidentally because it was after Bake Off.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling a bit left behind!

1. He's in The Middle East looking for the young black soldier who is he son of the man whose funeral we saw and who is obviously somehow linked to the butcher and his wife.

2. Don't know.

3. See 1, but other than that I don't know. I assumed it was blood he was cleaning up but I don't actually know.

Won't be surprised for someone to tell me I'm wrong about all of that!

Also, if I was the boy I would've put warm clothes on and sat outside it after shutting my sister in the shed.

Thank you intelligent people - making more sense. I remember when a series had a beginning, middle and end. Now they have begininng where they grip you and then jump to another country with dodgey looking characters, then back to somewhere else and you are left thinking - is it me? Is it my brain why cant I follow this? it is easier when fashions change due to going back in time. However watching National Treasure took me 3 episodes to realise they were going back to 60's. I know what you mean about James Nesbitt - he was good in that creepy dentist thing earlier this year.

For those thinking I watch a lot of TV - apart from Corrie, GBBO and re runs of The Bill and Poldark I really like to watch whats on about 9pm - usually something dark.menacing and violent.

I have however given up on Paranoid - couldnt fathom out what was going on.

I think the butcher is a red herring and the (now senile ) army guy made 'Alice' identify him as the abductor to disguise the fact that he himself is the abductor (along with the dead guy whose son has gone missing in the middle east). Alice obviously know him and had heard the sad little turtle tale before.

The butcher's wife is a bit suspicious too I think - and also ex army............. :?

Took me 2 episodes to realise that the French detective and the man in the middle east were the same person!!

Think the scars were from a fire and something to do with the wayward brother.

And what happened to the baby of the pregnant lady?

Oh dear, I'm feeling VERY dim now. I watched the first series and struggled with it BIG TIME - only kept watching in the hope that it would all come together (for me, it didn't). Against my better judgement, I decided to watch episode 1 of the new series, but gave up after about half an hour - I really didn't want to get "sucked in" a second time ... well done to those of you who are keeping up with it, but totally beyond me!

Im watching too. I really enjoyed, if thats the right word, the first series, but this one is a bit odd. It is jumping all over the place and I am a little confused. I am sure all will make sense in the final episode and it will all slot into place.

As for 'Alice', I am not sure if she is Alice or if she is Sophie and keeping Alice alive with all the things they would have spoken about whilst in captivity, as Alice is no longer alive? The butcher I think has been poaching and kept the cacasses for his shop in the tunnels under the ground as they would be nice and cold. Not sure why Alice took the police there, unless she was taken there just before running away? Or she just happened to find it when pretending to find the hiding place. So very many questions

Love this one but I think there's a lot of red herrings. The three timelines really threw me at first, I have to look at the length of hair/ scarring to know where we are.

The two girls have obviously both got the same tattoos probably other children in the army paedophile ring have as well. The major was probably one of the paedophiles which is why he gave the girl the warning. The father of the French girl will be the leader of the ring which is why she didn't want to go back and changed identity with Alice. Her mother probably found out about him which is why she jumped off the building.

Reed the father whose funeral we saw and whose son is in the middle east probably found out about the ring and abduction which is why he was murdered. The son is protecting the father's reputation who he believes is part of the ring, which is why he cleaned up the blood and didn't realise he's innocent.

Whether the butcher is the abductor, imprisoner, I'm not sure. He may just have transported the girls between hideouts. His wife is definitely in on it and Alice/Sophie's brother has his suspicions which is why she freaked out in the supermarket carpark. So that's my theory but it will be completely different after Wednesday

I've just realised from reading this thread that I'm really not paying enough attention to it!

I sort of have an inkling as to what's going on but unless it's a subtitled series that requires concentration, I just let it wash over me. My mind starts wandering very easily

I'm going to apply myself tonight!
