Oh, poo! I forgot.

I'll put a rattlesnake in the box, so there'll be shock, if not surprise!! 🤣

Noooo I know it's irrational but I have a real problem with šŸ didn't realise before being on social media, so many people post random snake pics and gifs (shudder)

Sadly the truth is that we seem to be a smaller group then hithertoĀ and so weĀ know each other's skills. ThereforeĀ it's not too hard to second guess! However, it's all done with care and love and much skillĀ and ingenuity and still a lovely surprise. Personally I receive my swaps with great delight and feel so grateful that someone has put so much work into the gift. Long may it continue and big thanks to Luvvie and Mr Luvvie for their efforts in organising - very much appreciated ...must be a bit like herding cats!

Don't worry: you have better odds of winning the lottery than getting me anywhere near a snake. *shiver*

Hi - am I too late for this ?? - each year I love the idea of this but am really lacking in the ability to make something - but this year I have something I am hoping I can make even if it may look like a 5 year oldĀ has made itĀ šŸ˜‚Ā

Ā

Nope, not too late at all 😊

I have a paper list for now but I think I will do a new post with our names on like we normally have.

You also know if it has come from Catails or me as we are abroad, however for the last couple of years on the Christmas swap I have posted from the UK when visiting.Ā

Going to try something out of my comfort zone this year.

Worth sending a message to some of those who have taken part regularly in the past? Ā They may just be sleeping...Ā

Yes, I had noticed that some of us haven't appeared yet. Maybe they might notice once I put up the new post.

I just had a look at the photos from the 2018 Christmas swap - there are some very talented people on here - I have only just found my slightly creative side so perhaps I should add descriptive labels with mine so you know what they are suppose to beĀ Ā šŸ˜‚

Anything you make will be much appreciated.

I have limited skills and I am quite slow but one of the things I do make I can do quite quickly, although I haven't made any for a while.

I and Mr Luvachicken swap the names of those that enter and you make something crafty (or similar) to send to your recipient and someone will send you something for Christmas.

We all open our gifts we've been sent on Christmas Day.

I'm glad everyone is happy to do the swap - let's keep our fingers crossed that we can still all get to the Post Office and any crafty shops that we need to.

@Peter

This is what Luvachicken already answered you.

Peter - have to say I am not multi talented.........just have ago and see what works but, as far as I am concerned, it is very much the thought that counts! We all do our best and give and receive in the spirit of Christmas (and the forum!) There are few nice surprises in life andĀ the Omlet Forum Swaps are right up there!!!!!

ok thanks for your replys. One of my hobbies is wood turningĀ which I haveĀ not been doing so much until last year when I started up again helping/teaching at a place called (The Mens Sheds). TheyĀ are all round the world, just have a quick look on Google. I have a small piece I have made and would be easy posted as wood can be quit heavy, IĀ thinkĀ a lady would like it. Next is I need your help please as to what I have to do next to give my present, which I think is a great idea. Peter in wet and windy Northumberland, looking forward to Christmas.Ā

Try not to say what you like making as it is meant to be a secret 😊

If you would like to take part you just need to say on The Christmas Swap 2020 postĀ https://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/topic/86125-christmas-swap-2020/Ā and I will add you to the list.

At the end of this month I will ask everyone for their addresses via the PM's, then me and Mr Luvachicken mix everyone up and send you the person you will need to send your present to.

It needs to be sent to arrive in time for Christmas as I have had one scary moment where someone didn't send in time and had to send it special delivery. Their mistake must have cost them a lot of money and caused me a problem with not knowing if the otherĀ person was going to get a gift or not.

Once you have received your gift and opened it on Christmas Day, we all post pictures on here and say thank you.

Have a look at previous Christmas swapsĀ Peter, to give you an idea of what goes on.

Well @PeterĀ me and Ursula both live abroad, so do count on having to send abroad.

Yes, and so does Ursula's friend if sheĀ decidesĀ to take part.

It is quite difficult as it is trying to make sure that we don't send to someone we have already sent to on previous years. Sometimes it is just not possible but when someone new joins in it at least gives some of us a new person to send to.

You may well end up with an address from abroad. We have all had turns at sending abroad and the people from abroad have to send to us, so it is just the same. If you really can't afford to send abroad then I will see what I can do. Posting abroad is actually not that expensive and if you send something light it is not so bad.

We are only posting to Europe btw, not Australia.

Peter, I have added to you to the Christmas Swap 2020 list.

Please look there from now on as this post was mostly about what people wanted to do with regards to the Coronavirus.
