kazaddress
Last week, after cursing M&S bra sizing (they're getting smaller all the time you know ) I got back on the scales and have put on 4lbs. Lesley. putting on 4lbs on the scales doesnt actually mean you have put on 4lbs.. *tries to explain* ok. I weigh once a week.. and only go by that weight, as throughout the day your body weight fluctuates a great deal (after eating / drinking / exercise / going to the loo) I did an experiment last year when I was at goal (8.5stone). I weighed myself every hour throughout the day, and my weight went up to 9stone 2lbs (thats an increase of 9lbs)... however by morning it was back down to 8.5stone. its all to do with water retention, and the weight of the food you eat.. at different times of the day your perspire more, so you weight less (you can loose up to 3kg in 1 hour of playing a gam like rugby). I hope this helps Good for you Sheila! Yup, I think a lot of difficulties stem from our attitude to food - I have real trouble leaving food on a plate (I blame my parents for their "dont get down from the table until you have finished"!) I have got around this by buying a smaller plate for myself.. and any leftovers I encourporate into the next days lunch
The Dogmother
I've heard that you should weigh yourself at the same time every day, but I just couldn't be a**ed (or that bothered) to weigh myself every hour
AnnieP
I think I should weigh myself at the same time every year! i.e. once! I have given up the scales and now just use a mirror and my clothes to tell me what I don't want to know......
The Dogmother
Exactly, and also if you're working out to help lose weight, then the weight loss won't show as much on the scales as muscle replaces the flab.
AnnieP
oh yes, and my bones are very dense.....

Mel (& Paul)
ah, but I wear them in both eyes - so I would have thought 8pounds?
AnnieP
Good on ya Dan! And thank you for your very kind comments. I agree with you entirely, and I love McDonalds too I allow myself 4 a year as a special treat.....

Lesley. putting on 4lbs on the scales doesnt actually mean you have put on 4lbs.. Yes, Kaz - what you said does make some sense and i just don't weigh myself all the time. However I know I've put weight on when my bra is too tight and my fingers go all tingly I prefer to blame M&S, or to be correct - Matalan - but I know it is extra weight. Carl's become quite used to me wriggling out of my bra - straps down my sleeves - and flinging it away Damn straight jackets - i hate them
red
Everyone sounds like they're doing really well. I haven't been very strict since the wedding at the end of October but have only put on a few pounds which I'm confident I will soom shake off now that I am back to my old GI routine. I'm still 3 and half stone lighter than I was in January so I'm very happy but I do plan to lose some more before next summer. If I achieve my goal I will treat myself to a wetsuit which I will wear with pride
The Dogmother
Carl's become quite used to me wriggling out of my bra - straps down my sleeves - and flinging it away Damn straight jackets - i hate them I do that to Lesley - as soon as I get in from work. I hate anything constricting, so it comes off when I get in and change into something comfy. In the summer when it's hot, I have a shower and get into one of my lovely batik shifts from Lombok, nothing else, just the shift - BLISS! Dan. I love you just the way you are too .... theherd123
P PS Today me and the bloke who have the "weight loss bet" both had a McDonalds cheeseburger!!! He was fed up and I didn't argue too much because I really love McDonald's (even after seeing "Super Size Me"), anyway I figured it couldn't hurt too much becasue if we both had one then it wouldn't affect the competition... Now you're talking Dan!!! This is my kinda logic!
kazaddress
oh well done Dan. what ever gives you your motivation This health kick this is going well.. I had a tuna wrap today (simon made some tortillas lastnight so we wanted to use them up) I managed to run a further 500metres today at the gym, with no knee twinges I then did an hour of yoga (and as usual fell asleep) lol Came home and swapped the idea of having moussake for a healthy vegetable stirfry with sweet and sour sauce I weigh in on Friday.. so it will be interesting to see the result <-- cool hats)

Lesley
Has anyone heard from Thalia - COAM ? I sent her a PM a few weeks ago but it is still in my Outbox, so she hasn't been in here. I tried to leave a message on her Blog but can't remember my password and it won't lat me leave an anonymous message. She was doing so well but having problems re the counselling, last time I looked - that was Sept. 3rd

Sheilaz
Same here, I did the same with accessing the blog & was hoping she'd pop back on this topic. Hope it's just something simple such as computer problem, or no time due to lots of fun lifestyle changes! Whether the news is good or bad (hope you're not poorly) we'd love to hear from you Thalia, you know our support and best wishes are only a click away!
