moochoo
Fantastic news! Well done Have you found it easy to stick to, it seems such a strict plan?
Guest
Thank you both. Yes its amazing how easy it is to stick to. not having the choices of what to eat makes it easier and you can't cheat like you do on other diets by blowing out for a meal and then cutting back the next day. There is a lot of talk in our group about Christmas though, our first 100 days is up on Christmas Eve so anyone who has lost enough weight can start on food but thats just chicken and raw veggies. I will still be on it for a few months and I think I might miss the post dinner Port but I'm not fussed about the food. Oh and I'm saving a fortune in the party season - I'm not eating or drinking so cheap nights out!

Cinnamon
Thats really fab I might look into Lighter life, but would find it really hard to still have to cook real food for the family every day. Still, 2 stone - what a great result!
Ziggy
Well done!! That's actually quite inspiring cause I'm still struggling to lose the weight I put on after the birth of my youngest daughter. She is 15 months old, and while most people moan about the weight they put on 'in' pregnancy, with me the problem is always the weight I put on 'after' pregnancy... with four kids and a OH who is away abroad all week and all the kids' afterschool activities I find it very hard to keep to healthy homemade meals and I feel we've had take-aways for a whole year!!! I 'only' have a stone and a half to lose, and I know perfectly well that if I set my mind to it I could lose it, maybe not easily, but at least reasonably soon, yet I can't kick myself into action... It'd be lovely to at least fit comfortably into my clothes again...Reading of other people's successes is heartwarming!! So well done, and thanks for making me more determined to tackle my own weight! All the best,
Guest
I still cook and shop and it's not as hard as I thought it would be. There is one woman in my group whose husband is doing it too so they are always having to cook for their kids! My mate at work his wife did it and cooked him lovely meals throughout and sat and chatted to him whilst he was eating. He had seen her do all the diets and he was surprised how easy this one was. Guest
I put on all my weight after having James too, and during all the trouble with his dad and then after I kicked him out and felt lonely.... Actually you lot would have laughed at me today. I usually avoid seeing his dad by going out before he comes. I don't want him to know about the diet until the weight is all gone, he will only scoff anyway. So today I had to see him as Mum is away. I was wearing huge baggy gardening clothes, a saggy bra and my garden pouch round my waist UNDER my T shirt so that I looked as fat as possibe. Of course those huge baggy clothes weren't so huge and baggy a couple of months ago.

Lesley
Congratulations Pengy - that's brilliant! I'm so pleased for you and I'm glad you are finding it relatively easy to follow. Puts my 2lb to shame though! I've been referred by the nurse to a scheme run at the leisure centre - i have to go to the gym twice a week for 12 weeks. The gym wasn't my idea of fun but I'm actually enjoying it - perhaps you have the same sort of scheme in your area Sarah?
Guest
I've joined the gym and enjoy it more than I thought I would. I joined before I started this diet and with the gym and calorie counting I managed to lose 1lb in a month! TBH I prefer to do cardio gardening than go to the gym so I've not bothered much this week as I've spent so much time working hard in the garden. I was working it out earlier and if I don't start to go more often I'm cancelling my membership as its cheaper to pay as you go. I like the gym more when I go with my friend but she works so late she usually gets there as I arrive.
Snowy
Well done Pengy! Good that you have the motivation - that does help! I've done the diet in the past and it's not a problem, it's finding the motivation to stick with it that's the problem. It took me 11 years to lose my post pregnancy 3 stone, then I got pregnant again, and again Now it's all back on again.
Lesley
I put weight on initially - changing fat to muscle, but at least at the gym they understand that - unlike slimming clubs. At my assessment, I was told by the trainer that I needed to do 30 mins of excersize 5 times a week - the gym accounted for 2 so what else was i going to do. She discounted my offer of walking around feeding animals so i told her I'd increase my ......... erm....... marital activity - that had her spluttering her coffee all over the place
Guest
We were following a plan laid out by the personal trainer and boy he works you hard! I have some exercise machines here at home and often I'd rather do 30 mins on my strider than drive 20 mins to the gym. Its not a natural environment for me - I love swimming but the changing rooms there are so disgusting that I rarely go. I've complained and the centre manager keeps promising they are being sorted out. I asked last week and was told that the deep clean was in progress but when I took James there it was just as filthy as ever. They have a sign asking you to take your outdoor shoes off or put shoe covers on NO WAY am I taking my outdoor shoes off and walking on that floor its disgusting with ground in grime. I take extra towels to put on the floor and put them in the wash when I get home.
Rona
Well done! I looked into the lighterlife diet but bottled out (they couldn't tell me if it was dairy free - but I only asked once and didn't chase for an answer). It is a fantastic achievement to have to have stuck at it nevermind to have lost so much in just 40 days. You are set to smash the 3 stone in 100 days target! I need to shift about 5 or 6 stone. I too blamed in on baby fat but they are now 37 and 34, then it was stopping smoking but that was 18 years ago. But I have now got so many foods that disagree with me that I have lost just over a stone in the past 3 months as it is difficult to pig out on rice cakes and broccoli
Guest
I can tell you the answer - all the shakes are made with skimmed milk powder so not dairy free! It must be horrible to not be able to eat stuff, I have enough problems remembering not to scoff a nut crunch bar right before I teach the kid with the really bad nut allergy! (OMG in one class I have the epileptic kid, who is really struggling lately and the boy with the severe nut allergy). The epileptic kid has had 3 fits in my lesson or outside my classroom already. The nut allergy boy has shown me how to use the epi-pen (the training is like 40 minutes and there is NO WAY I'm doing that - kid showed me in 2 and its not hard). Rona
Thanks Peng, maybe that's why they didn't bother to come back to me My youngest grandaughter has to carry an epipen as she has a lot of allergies. Mostly to fur and feathers so will have to watch her with the chickens when she's here. The cats aggravate her eczema but she puts up with that rather than not pet them. She's only allowed to have a little bit of egg now and again which used to really annoy her as her sister would have egg and soldiers and she wanted some too so I gave her special egg and soldiers, - cadbury's chocolate egg and chocolate fingers. Well, she's not allergic to chocolate!
