missuscluck
blumin eck. This thread is so funny. We are all out en mass in the morning in odd matching night attire with wellys or old shoes on (sometimes from 2 different pairs) hair all over the place talking to our chooks. What a glam life we lead. With our soggy vegi patches with the remains of veg either eaten by caterpillars or hens on a mission to seek and destroy. My water butt is full!! Thats because its WINTER We are all indoors Quite the wrong time of year for a decent article on self sufficancy. Perhaps he should come back next summer. Cate in NZ
I'd guess though that it's all to do with the lead time on magazines and printing dates etc. Not that I know very much about it, but I've always understood that magazines work on issues several months before their publication date, so maybe they're looking at an inspirational, good life type article to coincide with the spring growing season I agree that the journalists tone is a bit pompous and arrogant, and with their strict agenda for the type of person they want they're missing out on some fabulously inspirational people, but I guess they want the type of person that their readership will identify with and also find attractive. Unfortunately in a magazine article a sparkling wit and generous, compassionate personality don't usually shine through quite as well as a brilliant smile and a great pair of legs, albeit in designer wellies . And if whoever does the article does manage to inspire a few others into trying the good life, then good on them, even if it does fool people into thinking that you can be self sufficient and perfectly groomed That still leaves me out
bronze
albeit in designer wellies with some funky purple hunters I could probably manage that bit. Its the rest I cant do (except the age)
Guest
I have a brilliant smile. Great set of legs though.....hmmm.......My granny has good legs!
Janty
Well, we have a polytunnel, a fruit cage, a greenhouse and a freezer stocked with pasta sauces made from our own produce. We also have 12 chickens and fit in the age bracket. Big however coming.... ....we are more your short and dumpy rather than glam.
Lesley
Well..... I do have Pink Crocs wellies .......but then they do have my fat legs squashed into them

Sheilaz
Yay, another Crocs topic, one of the forum's most popular subjects. Johannes must be delighted that he started this thread. I'm outside the requirements on most counts (age ) but can def. do glam. As in windswept, dragged through hedge backwards look. And choice of many croc colours or Purple Hunters (snap, Bronze!) Charlottechicken
I am in the age range, but nowhere near in the 'glam' stakes I'm afraid. Priceless sell the mock croc wellies (for £8 ), I will be getting a pair off Santa
