Cate in NZ
It's a gorgeous day here today, really bright blue sky, plenty of sun.............and no rain . OK the wind's cold a bite to it, but it's a lovely, great to be alive kind of a day. So, I finally tackled that job................the one that I've needed to do for months but kept putting it off because it's an outside chore and one that I hate. It's either been too cold, or too wet, or too dark, or I've had other, more pressing jobs that I needed to get on with first. But today I gritted my teeth, humiliated by the fact that darling son had written "clean me" on the back last weekend, and I've done it Yes, my car is now gleaming as it sits on the drive, sparkling clean inside and out, and now I really deserve a sit down at the computer with a nice cup of tea whilst I'm waiting for the circulation to return to my fingers
AnnieP
Oh well done! I feel virtuous too, as Molly and I have had a very long ramble. Great to blow the cobwebs away. Now cooking some pasta for my lunch. Then its time to tuck up on the sofa with a book I think....
Paola
Well done Kate I have OH to do that job
Popcorn
Oh lucky you Paola. Mine never does the car. Ever. With a huge tummy I can't get in very well now, so you can imagine the state of it with Stefan throwing all sorts around in the back. Kate - I'm especially satisifed at the moment when I get those kinds of jobs done, so I know exactly how you feel. In inbetween work days I'm sorting out Stefan's clothes that can be used for baby no. 2 and his wardbrobe and drawers are looking brilliant. I can find exactly what I need and everthing is staying 'ironed'
CatsCube
Noooo I was mentr to clean the car the other week, but I still have been able to put it off. I was going to go through the car wash as I thought Noah would enjoy it, but its not working. I guess I will have to wash it myself at some point. . . . Just not yet, I have erm . . . important paper shuffling to do.
chickencam
I love having a clean car, but there is nothing like it to attract the birds and make it rain. I washed mine a couple of weeks ago and it looked great, but now it is covered in dust (OH cutting wood when it was in the garage) but the inside is still pretty good
Rhapsody
I dismantled the eglu and removed the run, jetwashed the eglu and shades dried it all in the sun then moved the whole operation off the ex-lawn (ie mudpit) onto the concrete by the sheds, installed bargeboards and breezeblocks to weight the skirt down, fresh Aubiose down in the run and nest box Having some luch and interweb time then back out to put down woodchips where the eglu and run used to be, outta my way I'm on a roll! Cate in NZ
I'm impressed Rhapsody I was on a roll, until I sat down.............I've barely moved since . Still, the car looks good
Tessa the Duchess
Good for you Rhapsody I also gave my Eglu its weekly fettle, didn't take the run off though, fingers too frozen to fiddle around with those screw things Thawing out now, but have that nice feeling I always get when the girls house is all clean Tessa
Snowy
I know the feeling Kate! It's been lovely and sunny here today, but very cold and windy! Spent the morning baking, then after lunch dismantled the cube and pressure washed the poo trays and the roosting bars. I wanted to do the nest box and the inside but they made do with just a quick wipe over and refill the nest with straw - poor Florrie was stood in the doorway squawking at me to hurry up so she could lay an egg. Poor girl had her legs crossed! Then I tidied the garden and ran fruit cage netting around the flower beds that the girls have had access to all winter - need to give the plants a chance now! Phew, need a sit down now
hillfamily
i like a day when lots gets done - especially those jobs you've been putting off in favour of 'important paper shuffling' My car was washed by the garage when it went for its MOT - looked lovely and gleaming for a week :D then I went through a very large/deep muddy puddle and now it's all dirty Well done to all those who have got things done today - enjoy your cuppas :D
Jules.
My dad had his varicous veins stripped last Thursday, & he is unable to drive for a fortnight, so I have got his car- it was mine but we sold it to him last year when we got the Picasso. It's a lovely midnight blue Rover 25 with leather seats & alloys (it's also the first car we looked at when we needed to replace the Fiesta that got written off by a daft bloke pulling out blindly onto the main road & crashing into Suart. Ethan was only 3 weeks old so we needed a replacement car quickly) We're not into cars at all - except minis . I don't think dad has cleaned out the inside of the car since he has had it, & he insists on riding around with oil cans, spare wipers, a big bottle of water, tub of Vaseline etc in his boot "just in case" ( he's in Green Flag ) His boot was so bad I refused to put shopping bags in there if I used his car, it ws so yucky. I have 'reduced' his stuff down & put it all in a plastic toy box to keep it neat. His car looks lovely now, it's gleaming inside & out & my dad can only have it back if he promises to keep it that way.
Egluntyne
I love a clean car. Much easier now that I don't do school pickups or ferry teams of sweaty boys around to football matches.
Olly
I bought my car in October last year. I have yet to wash it!

Olly
aha - you've rumbled me. Didn't want to boast about being so green, but of course that's why it hasn't been washed.
One Man Banned
Well I'm hoping for a lovely day tomorrow as I need to clean the laydees out and freshen everything up for them. As for my car.....I've owned it just over a week now and I fully valeted it Tuesday before last, but over the weekend we went to Joe's brothers and Molly was with us, so the inside is full of bits and dog fur, the odd muddy paw prints on the leather and as for the outside..... it got pooped on by a bird and the alloys are filthy. It will be washed again tomorrow This is my new baby A xx
Laura & CTB
A good layer of dirt helps to protect the bodywork from the salt on the roads
One Man Banned
A good layer of dirt helps to protect the bodywork from the salt on the roads A but a steam pressure wash, keeps the polish doing it's job - mind you I have to keep salt off it - it's a Ford A xx
