Egluntyne
That is what my children always wanted when poorly. I wonder if it is made with free range chicken
chelsea
That is what my children always wanted when poorly. I wonder if it is made with free range chicken I wonder if there is chicken actually in it at all? I can remember not seeing any chicken chunks in the soup, my memory tells me it was very watery with just noodles. Maybe its just chicken artificial flavouring? doesnt state ingredients on the sainsburys website
chelsea
just found out It contains "dehydrated chicken"
The Dogmother
I wonder if it is made with free range chicken My homemade soup is - there's always some in the freezer in case of poorliness, or just fancying it. Hope you feel better soon Snowy - Biscuit asks if he can come and curl up with you
Snowy
What are you lot like! They don't make soup like they used to! My favourite standby (particularly for a hangover ) used to be Crosse & Blackwell Oxtail soup. It tastes disgusting these days MY chicken soup is dead easy and tasted gorgeous! 2pints water, 2 kallo, organic chicken stock cubes, chopped, cooked free range chicken lumps, couple handfuls tinned or frozen sweetcorn. Bring to the boil and when ready chuck in a home grown egg and whisk around. Deeelicious!
The Dogmother
My Italian grandpy used to use egg in his - it's called Straciatella - basically chicken broth with an egg white whisked into it and parmesan sprinkled on top... food of the gods
Egluntyne
Doesn't the egg go stringy and yukky?
The Dogmother
No, it whisks into little filaments. I forgot the tiny star pasta, can't remember the name (Rhapsody might know) but it's a sort of soup pasta, which is minute.
Goosey Lucy
stelline? I used to give these to the boys when they were weaning. I still like them
Snowy
Doesn't the egg go stringy and yukky? Stringy yes, yukky no! Go on try it! If you've ever had crab and sweetcorn or chicken and sweetcorn soup in a chinese restaurant, this is exactly how they make it (but 10 times nicer!) My chinese sister in law showed me how to do it - it's so simple!

The Dogmother
How's the spots Hon? It's like the plague ship here at work - everyone has something like you've got, and now I have a sore throat too
Snowy
Thanks for asking, you'll get fed up of this soon! But the saga goes on: still spotty, they are travelling around ; throat is still swollen but much less painful; still struggling to eat so living on soup at the moment (hubby is doing a home made minestrone as we speak) not a bad thing as I must lose some weight this way But now I've got bizarre tingling in my hands if I try to grip anything GP did say to go back if that didn't resolve on it's own so will see how it goes over the next few days. Overall though, I do feel better Just trying to ignore the disaster zone in the kitchen (legacy of 2 days of OH cooking) and the mountain of clothes that he's washed and dried that still need ironing and putting away. Bless him, he's doing very well - but he's now getting a sore throat. And 16yr old is suffering today. Poor things
The Dogmother
Oh dear, do you have plague signs up outside the house? The tingling sounds odd though Take care m'Dear.
chickencam
I am wondering because your infection is very centred on your throat area, if it is putting pressure on your thyroid because tingling and pins and needles in the hands is one of the symptoms of your thyroid gland not quite working so efficiently
Aunty e
Are you sure you don't have shingles? Nothing to be done for it really if you do, but sounds a lot like the last time one of my lodgers had it.
Helen&Lee
You must be getting really fed up now of feeling poorly - its so frustrating when you just want to get up and go! The tingling thing could be your blood sugar levels out of balance - I remember one of my friends mentioning it relating to an early symtom of diabetes - Not wishing to put the frightners on you but if you're not eating properly that could explain it! I've got a sore throat today so reading this post has helped me - I'm meant to be at the craft show at the NEC on Friday, but my sister who I'm going with is on some super dooper drugs for Rheumatoid Arthritis and can't take them if she gets infections so we all steer clear.... so I guess if it gets worse thats me not going Sending you well wishes Helen
CatsCube
Yeah Im thinking Shingles too. I remember my mum having it once. She had spotty things on her back and pins and needles pains and a sore throat. Just taken Noah to the Docs again today as he hasnt been eating for a week now and has been on Calpol for over a week too and still has a fever and wants to sleep all the time. Doctor things Croup is on its way out, but that it has brought on a chest infection. So now he has anti biotics for that. Poor mite, first pneumonia, then croup now a chest infection. And #Ifeel like I have a golf ball wedged in my throat.
Tessa the Duchess
Yeah Im thinking Shingles too. I remember my mum having it once. She had spotty things on her back and pins and needles pains and a sore throat. I thought Shingles started with a rash around your waistline? Anyway I do hope it isn't Shingles, 'tis very painful Get better soon all you sufferers. Tessa
Snowy
Don't worry, it's definitely not shingles!! It's itchy but not painful. Trouble is, I think a lot of these viruses are linked so can have similar symptoms. Been to the chemist this morning - successfully persuaded the pharmacist that a box of 32 paracetamol would not last long in a house with 3 feverish adults so she kindly let me have 2 boxes It does seem like there's a lot of it about though - son has cancelled his drum lesson and his tutor said he's not the first; chemist couldn't believe how many were ill; plus there's everyone on here (big hugs to little Noah ). I vote we cancel all non essential activity for one week and have a national week off sick Who's with me??
bronze
Sounds good to me but I'm recovered now. Can I have the tiem off to catch up on all the things that didn't get done instead You sound more chirpy which is good
