Healthy Eating Chat Part 1

Well done everyone

It's really good to take measurements, so you can see just how well you are doing on weeks where perhaps you don't lose as much weight.

I'm aiming for a 4lb loss by the 29th August, the day I embark ship  which will take me to 8 stone 5lb.

I know I'll put it all again when I come back from my holiday though :lol:

Ideally I'd like to maintain my weight between 8 2 & 8 5 forever, anything less than that is a bonus.

I shall be losing a lot of water soon. My doctor has prescribed diuretic tablets because of my swollen feet and ankles (been putting it off for a while now) and I will have to go for a blood test as he thinks my thyroid is messing about. At the same time he said he might as well give me an MOT and test for diabetes too. I told him I have a spare tyre that I'm hoping to lose!

Weigh in this morning - 17 stone and it's either 12 or 13lb - I nearly hit my head on the wall looking down because I couldn't believe my eyes!

I'll call it 17st 13lb because if it goes down a little more it will look much better that way!

So measurements this morning

Boobies: 47 :|

Waist:43.5 :D

Bum and tum:54 - one inch loss from last time. :)

So where has the weight gone from apart from possibly my grey matter and a little off the waist?

Seems the tablets might be working although I haven't noticed any extra loo trips since the first tablet. I'm probably drinking more though. :?

Well done Jules and Koojie!

I had a really bad food day yesterday. Saturday morning croissants (not good), normal lunch then went very downhill for evening meal. Oh was on night shift, kids wanted pizza, I had a battle on my hands and DD baked flapjack. I ate three Smartie cookies and flapjack instead of dinner. Still 'feel' fat this morning. Horrible feeling. Plus I've not done any excercise for a few days now. I have biltz the house though!

Back on track today though which is good as usually I would have given up by now. It helps to wear a slightly too tight t-shirt and trousers as it reminds me all day why I am doing it!! :anxious:

Great news guys - you're doing brilliantly :D Koojie, you will be marching up those hills soon!

If only - I struggled with hills even when I was fit, but I could shinny up a tree no problem. Pen y Fan was absolute torture - it didn't help when a squaddie went yomping up with full pack and not even out of breath at all! In the old days I went shooting up Corfe Castle (before you weren't allowed), but that was because it was so steep I could use hands as well - it's the upright-legs-only steep hills that get me. :?

Well done to all the others who have lost weight (got carried away, but I think watercress soup and a scone wasn't too bad today - pasta this evening - smaller portions still).

Hello all,

Tuesday weigh in 10st 6 3/4 lbs only lost 1lb this week. But then I had had a pig out on one of the days and have done very little in the way of excercise. Must do more this week. Lost 1/2 inch off my waist and 1 inch off my hips. Not too bad really. I keep reminding myself that slow and steady weight loss is better than overdoing it.

So total weigh loss of 4lbs in two weeks and 2 1/2 inches off my waist and 1 1/2 inches off my hips.

I am resolute this week to fit in some more excercise on top of the healthy eating. Will check in next Tuesday with an update. Thanks for the encouragement! I need it!

I was going - haven't been since April when we started lambing - I must get back to it.

I love the treadmill! - I only walk though as I'm still learning to walk properly after my knee injury. I do 1km and time it - as long as i don't start slipping timewise then I'm happy. I go back to it at the end and use it on steep incline and practise using the right muscles around my knee so the speed is set quite slow - I want to get back to mountain hiking with Carl.....and now Jazz.

I use the bike for 10 - 15 mins set on Cross Country - it has three 'steep' bits - I call them 2 Haystacks and a Snowdon  Then I use some of the arms and shoulders ones and some specific ones for my knee. Then the cross trainer and back to the treadmill on incline. Sometimes I use the big gym ball for balance exersizes.

I do like it when I get there - it's getting there that is the problem......perhaps tomorrow......

I warm up with 10 minutes on the recumbent cycle, level 5. Then i do the weight machines as apparently you burn fat better if you do weights then cardio. Then it's 10 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the treadmill, using the hill programme. This varies the incline automatically, i do it at a fast walking pace, without holding on. I really enjoy the gym once i'm there, infortunately i've only managed to go twice in the last two weeks due to IBS and entertaining my daughter

I'm glad to see were all trying numerous things to loose weight. How is your pink patch?

My Tuesday weigh in was a bit disappointing as I only lost 3/4lb. As OH said it's better than putting it on. I know they all add up but it's slow going. I still feel better though. Small steps and I'll get there in the end as I'm not giving up now. When I go back to work in two weeks I must try and break the bad habits.

I have noticed that at this time in my monthly cycle I am really craving sweet thing more.

Hi y'all.

Weekly weigh-in = 17st and just hovering under 12oz - will call it 12 for now.

Boobies are the same = 47

Waist lost an inch = 42.5

Hips and tum lost an inch = 53

I did a lot of walking this weekend (wretched hills), plus the tablets. I think the muscles in my botty are toning up - feels much firmer than flabby.
