Healthy Eating Chat Part 1

Recommended Posts

How's everyone doing? I did a fab WW lunch for some riding buddies the other day, we went for a lovely hack (2 points!) and then came back and ate in the garden. The dish I did is so nice and so easy I thought I'd post it up-see the main thread 'Fab Fish al Fourno'.

I have lost over 2 lbs this week :D

Still just eating sensibly and exersizing more. I've been working with my son, clearing loads of very old junk left by previous occupants in the barns.....and junk of our own which we added  I certainly don't need to go to the gym this week - Tuesday I worked 9am-7pm and yesterday I worked 9.30 -6.30 and must have walked miles and lifted tons.

I've lost 4.5lb this week, taking me to 2.5 stone lost :D I'm hoping to get to 3 by the end of October. There's been quite a few drop outs in my group which only makes me feel better about how well I'm doing. Stubborness does have it's advantages

Well done to everyone and their acheivements so far. Keep it going!

I'm joining this thread a bit late  but am so impressed by all the weight loss :D .

I too saw photos of myself (on holiday) and was so horrified I decided to do something about it. Luckily the right mindset has kicked in (I've tried before but just couldn't make myself do it) and I've been watching what I eat since early August. I've only lost half a stone but I'm finding it really easy to just eat less and avoid all the rubbish. I'm still determined to lose at least another half stone (or a whole one would be great!).

I'm eating main meals on a flat soup plate rather than the huge one I used to use  , avoiding crisps & sweets totally and mainly avoiding cakes (well I need some pleasure in life  ).

One really tough step class a week helps and I WILL start running again soon (hope to do the Edinburgh half marathon next April - if I tell enough people, you can shame/encourage me into doing it :anxious: ).

Wow, you all sound like you are doing great :D

I'm already mentally preparing to begin being a bit more careful about how much I eat. I am a stone lighter than I was before I got pregnant (son is 6 months old now) and I'm sure it is purely down to breastfeeding.......but once I stop breast feeding I would like to keep my weight where it is currently.

No wonder I'm keen to carry on breast feeding him for the time being!!

Another 2 pounds off on Tuesday, bringing the total to 12 pounds in 6 weeks (and very baggy jeans!). However I am on holiday for a few days next week, and am out for lunch every day until 8th November as all my work colleagues and such have booked me up for lunches as I leave my job shortly. Fingers crossed that I don't put any back on. I had a 'flexible' day yesterday (although tried to ensure it was as 'green' as possible) as I had lunch with part of the 'inner sanctum' who are currently working in Dubai for 18 months and have flown home for a few days, but was straight back on the straight and narrow today.

Well done Redfrock! I think that Slimming world is quite easy to do when eating out, there's lots of nice veggie options for green days and always meat and salad/veg for reds. You should be fine, just watch the drinking

You'll be out of those jeans and into smaller ones soon :D

Well done all :clap::clap::clap:

I have a journalist phoning for a telephone interview on Monday and she is arranging for a photographer to come as well.....I still don't know what publication we are looking at though!

I did the interview on the phone tonight for 45 mins and I'm expecting a photographer to be in touch tomorrow.

Its for the Daily Mirror though :? So I guess I'll be more of a "single mother" than smart professional woman!

She asked what sort of man I would be after if I was dating - I hope that doesn't get played up too much. I was rather vague about my "exercise classes" I'm not sure the head would be happy if I ended up as "pole dancing teacher"

3 Stone is amazing! What is your goal? At my weigh-in last night I've shed a stone so far, aiming for 2st by Xmas.

Some of the ladies at my WW group are a riot. When I told one last night my back boobs had gone she said "You're not so much fun to slow dance with then." And our Leader handed vegetables around (the theme was bulking out winter food with veg) and we all had an Esther Rantzen fit of the giggles as the veg got more and more suggestive

Unfortunately Rapsody, I need to lose at least 10 stone to reach a healthy mid 20's BMI. Hence my choice to join Lighterlife. I'm nearly a third of the way to target!

It's been the easiest method of weight loss I've ever done. I'm exercising regularly ( which I rarely felt encouraged to do on my previous weight loss attempts) and the way I'm thinking about food, emotions and socialising are so different now to before I started.

I feel like I've finally seen the truth about myself and my relationship with food. I just wish I had done this earlier.
