The Dogmother
Blimey, not cheap then! I'll have to see if I can find that place to see what else they have.
Blackrocksrock
I voted dark grey to make them stand out better although I have just got rid of all of mine and had wet wall installed with the new shower last week - its fab and far less work than tiles and grout! Helen&Lee
Voted for white as the rest of the wall looks like white grout. Also, I tend to agree with Snowy, whatever grout you use will most probaly dull the jewel like look they have without grout. Helen
Lesley
Blimey, not cheap then! I'll have to see if I can find that place to see what else they have. That was from stock as well! - I knew thay had exactly what I was looking for upstairs in the showroom as I'd seen them before..........but I didn't even venture up there - once I'd seen the prices on the stock mosaic, I knew I'd better not I had to make do with just three sheets. The Tile Warehouse is out by the Fishmongers I'm supposed to be showing you Clare! - I'll draw you a map Thank you for all the comments............I'm going to have another go shortly.............. hillfamily
love the tiles Lesley :D Has inspired me to do something about the horrible tiles in my bathroom Lesley, am I right in thinking that's it's OK to tile over tiles as long as the original tiles are in good condition ie not cracked and falling off the wall ?? Only ever tiled onto a plastered wall but I'm sure I heard that tiling over tiles is fine
Tina C
Can't someone put some pretend grey grout and some pretend pebble grout on the pic so we can compare them more easily? (I am thinking about the cat picture efforts now) I think white as the grout in the other tiles is white and I am a Virgo deep down and things have to match And whatever you put in you are going to lose the 3d sparkly effect as Snowy said. Only ever tiled onto a plastered wall but I'm sure I heard that tiling over tiles is fine Yes, I've also just tiled over all the kitchen tiles. Just make sure you buy a decent adhesive with plenty of grip. Was it Steve who said his line of work is tiles? - he'll probably tell you more. I'm here instead of tiling - as I don't want to lose that 3D effect
chocchick
In that case, you'll have to grout the lot in the darker colour so it matches
Lesley
I have done it!!!! It took 10 X as long as using white!!!! I like it! I have a few pieces of tile leftover so I'll find a box to cover so that at least something matches them - and I'll have to get the other towels out to go with the mocha ones....... ........and this is what the original looked like...... Gold fittings, terracotta tiles and mahogany wood - just not my colours..... ....so, I changed the mahogany toilet seat to white and painted the terracotta tiles cream - that gave me time to think....... Since then, we've covered the lower half of the walls with T&G MDF which I'm in the middle of painting the same colour as the beige tiles......... changed all the gold fittings to chrome, taken out the bath and covered the orange and cream floor tiles with the slate tile effect lino........ Nearly finished........... ...... but I could always change the rest of the bathroom to match the jewel mosaic tiles
The Dogmother
That looks much better now Lesley - was never a fan of the border myself - too flowery for me! I have seen the moasic ones that I want (see below) in the Fired Earth Factory showroom near us, but I'm bothered if I will pay those prices I don't need much either; just for the side of the bath. Mutrix Farmers
Excellent choice. I voted grey before I got to page 3 and saw that you had done it. I love mosaic tiles. I must learn to be more adventurous than the usual clinical white!!
MedusA
The grey grout looks fabulous, Lesley. Really brings out the jewel quality of the tiles. The result is brilliant and worth the cost IMO!

Lesley
Was there a price for those Clare? - I didn't see one. Have a look at the stock tiles in Stratford.....they may have something similar. I meant to say that the grout is actually BLACK - Carl couldn't find any dark grey, only pale grey, so I went for the black. It's a real pig to work with (that is the polite version!)
