We are so grateful to them, now we can still go skiing.....yipee. :D

Where are you off too? There's been loads of snow apparently, I work for an airline and there has been quite a few flight delays/cancellations over the last few days.

Hope you have a great time!

Were off to Obergurgl in Austria. Not snowing there at the moment but they have had 2.5m so we should be ok.

It's been a balmy 3 degrees here today and the mist finally lifted at 4pm.

Sunset getting noticeably later every day.

0 forecast for tonight.

For those of us with snow this weekend (alas not in Cumbria .... it's getting warmer) look out for the full moon illuminating the countryside.

It's at its biggest and brightest this year.

Read all about it here

Hi Everyone

The weather here in Preesall near Blackpool was nice it was nice and sunny with clear cold blue skies. As the night drew in there was frost forming on the paths around the area.

It is just above freezing at the moment but we expect it to drop below 0 degrees later in the night.

How has it been in your neck of the woods today, wherever in the world you are?

Best regards for 2009,

Ian & Valerie

We had beautiful Spring weather here yesterday! We enjoyed it until at 6pm we found we had a burst pipe in an outbuilding that we use as a Brewery and to make sausages, to dress any despatched chickens and we use it for overwinter storage.

Water 4" deep :( - 6 pillowcases of sheeps fleeces and 4 sacks of potatoes soaked :(

My son came and helped - he made two holes in the outer wall to let the water out and we all spent 2 hours with brooms getting rid of the worst of the water. Plenty of cleaning up to do today :(

The forecast for last night was below freezing - but we were still plus 2C when we went to bed and this morning it is plus3.3C  I have the window open here......and the heating isn't on!

According to Gadget Man (DH  ) it was -3C with a wind chill of -6C when I went out to let the chooks out  , nearly 2 hours later it's still -3C and -5C wind chill, forecast is "partly cloudy and cooler" Cooler  ? Crikey I'm off to find my thermals :lol::shock:

Sun's fighting through & the sky is clear, so hopefully a bit of warm will creep around.

Have a good day,

Sha x

It was fairly pleasant here yesterday, it did feel a bit like spring +5 and the birds were singing, glad to be alive I suspect. How do tiny birds survive?

It was around freezing during the night and the moon was really bright. 0.7 degrees at 7am -2 by 8.30 am now 0.7, the white frost has formed since it got light

Very sunny and bright today, which is better than the dull day yesterday. :D

Hope you have a better day today Lesley.
