Trick or Treat

Recommended Posts

unsurprisingly we were NOT bothered. Soemthing to do with living in a group of just 3 houses in the middle of nowhere with no street lights!

Been to a party at a real white witches house though - was rather fun!

Well, for the first time in the 16 years we have lived here,we have had 2 little trick or treaters

Lucky I still bought M&S choccy Ghosts, isn't it?

They are the new smallies from next door, which I sort of half expected, but as we are on an unlit road with no pavements I am not really suprised never to have had any before.

I didn't see them myself as I was enjoying a Lush Witches Ball bath bomb, so Hubby dealt with them & he said they looked really cute all dressed up :D8)

We didn't get any either :?

YD usually goes with a friend to pre arranged houses  but they were away, so we watched a family dvd eating the treats I'd bought for the trick or treaters who usually call :D

I banned ES from going as I think it's wrong for a bunch of large teenagers to go knocking on peoples doors dressed up in the dark.

at ES school they said all trick or treating was banned apparantly.. although from OS that probably stanslates to.. "they asked us to to participate this year".. he was at a private trick or treat party so not disturbing anyone or knowing on doors, just games and a laugh with his mates watching movies etc... :D

We had a fab night last night. I always have my good friends and neighbours round with their kids and they go to a few pre arranged houses and knock. Then we come back to mine and have pumpkin soup and hot dogs. My friends bring food to add to the feast. We had chicken, roasted potatoes and veggies, chocolate cakes and wormy jelly. 11 adults and 9 kids all together and a good time was had by all.

We live in a small village and we had lots of callers. I know all the kids and the parents supervising though, so no trouble here.

My son who is now 12 didnt go out this year for the first time. I said he could come with us if he wanted to and he made some rumblings about going with his mates but I said 'no way' Agreed, teenage lads should not be out knocking on doors. As it was his mates never turned up either. I think their parents must have said no too. :D

We had load this year probably the most we have ever had I am guessing this may have

been due to it not raining :!: and that it was YD's 16th Birthday and so we had a halloween/birthday party in full swing, our house would have been pretty hard to miss with all the the noise from a bunch of her teenage school friends halloween/birthday decorations and balloons inside and out.

The majority of our trick or treeters where littlies accompanied by older siblings or parents and they were so cute and very polite.

I made the legendary lemeon drizzle cake with the girls eggs which was offered to the parents on pickup of there darlings which prompted interest in the girls and so Aurora was duly brought in for all to see and stroke and bless her she was one her very best behaviour she was a huge hit with the kids and parents who said it was the first time they had ever been close to a hen let alone stroke one :) I think we may have a few potential omleteers :wink:

Oh well guess it's my teeth that will fall out. :D

Had a great girls night out to the Halloween Party in the pub nearby. I will post some pictures when I get Andyman's camera off him. :D

We didn't have any  although we are tucked away close to the edge of the village. I got non chocolate sweets so they will keep.

We always have a kids party first before some of the dads take the kids out around the village and the mums stay and drink wine and we make up the pumpkin from the middle of the lanterns into soup.

House is devasted this am - I should get on and clear

Usually my sister and I take the boys to Salem Village (where we grew up) however last year there were two stabbings and a shooting so we decided NOT to attend this year. I stayed at home and handed out candy and Ann Marie took they boys around our new neighborhood. We had the house done up with cob webs ghouls and ghosts and I gave out tons of candy. I was struck by the fact that most of the trick of treaters have lost the same enthusiasm we had, and don't get me started on the lack of manners, very few "thank yous" from the lot.

Next year I'll turn off the lights and hide behind the couch.

We had loads round. We're lucky though as most are from our road and a few from the village. I recognised them all.

I don't like the idea of being in a town and getting strangers in masks around.

Mine will stop going out when they move up schools. Til then we stick to the saem people in the road. Basically its a case of meeting up as a group and doing each others houses.

Mine didnt go out this year as we were out the night before but we do normally.
