Pressie time

Recommended Posts

My favourite present this year was that my children didn't fight too much. I got a lovely sewing box from my mum and lots and lots of cotton from my husband, as I never seem to have the right cotton for the job  It was also great to open my omlet secret santa present (lemon curd, chutney and a lovely egg cosy - thankyou so much couperwife for orgainising the secret santa)

I got lots of other little bits and bobs and the kids recieved far too many gifts from all and sundry as usual but they were quite nice about it.

I got a fabulous book, a Penguin reprint of a 1941 book called Keeping Poultry and Rabbits on S"Ooops, word censored!"s ( not that I would!) Great tips in it and graphic pictures of Bumble foot! :D

I also got a pink iPod Shuffle, goodness knows how it works, also a Sat Nav ( Ditto on the works front) My lovely OH got me a fabulous Radley handbag and some Chanel No 5 EDT, also got some great smellie stuff, Oscar de La Renta from MIL, a great deal better than the bum lifting pants of a few years back.

We had a wonderful time and I managed to fall asleep for the whole of BlackAdder before I was taken to bed!

Well I was spoilt beyond my wildest dreams  and for once I was not only speechless (!) but had no idea what I was being given

Hubby bought me a fab Samsung Notebook (smaller than a lap top). I have spent this morning watching the Strictly Final on it (which I missed last week). I can also spend time here with you guys and not be sat out in the spare room taking up the main computer. It is wi-fi . Best of all he had left a little love note saved on it which was saved in a shortcut entitled 'open me'

My best friend also went all out and surprised and spoilt me, buying me what is now another standard issue Omlet item .... a troll bead bracelet! It has the shaking hands to symbolise our friendship, and a beautiful red and purple bead which is the colour of my bridesmaid dress for when I was maid of honour for her (purple) and red, which was the colour of my wedding dress. She is in the dog house for spoiling me. I had a big cry, especially because of the letter she put with it.

My parents bought me a River Cottage book, which I had been eyeing up secretly so that was also a great surprise.

The day was topped off by having very close friends over for the day ... (a tad unconventional I know, but those close to me will know the reasons behind it) .... making it a truly idyllic Christmas and one which will remain with me for many years to come.

I got one of those too! I hadn't even heard of it but my parents had and spent lots of time trying to find it for me which I thought was really sweet.

I also got a loverly big bottle of Hugo Boss Deep Red, a little star YD made me out of card and the little circles you get in hole punches, an intriguing looking corkscrew, room fragrance where you put wooden sticks in a jar, cherries in Kirsch, gorgeous bottle of olive oil and some choccys.

Had the most lovely day at my parents with all my sisters and brother and their other half's and kids - 17 of us in all. The kids had a nice lie in this morning as they went to bed so late. Talking of which, they all managed to not get up until 7.45am yesterday morning! A few years ago, they were up at 4am  so we are very glad they have grown out of that now.

My ED bought my YD a small packet of tissses (along with lots of other things) which has written on the side "The best most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.... they must be felt by the heart".

I received lots of gifts this christmas and they were all lovely and had had lots of thought behind them, but one of the nicest things I received was the lovely hug and welcome my brother gave me when we arrived at his house Christmas morning, he isn't one to demostrate his feelings and is usually the worlds biggest joker so he made me feel really special and loved with just a simple hug - yet he probably has no idea how he made me feel. :)

Okay this post sounds really sentimental and soppy - I think I must be getting hormonal!!!

I didn't get a single chicken present  . I suspect my family doesn't want to give me any encouragement - they reckon I'm obsessed enough already  .

same here but as previous chicken related pressies have been books about chookie keeping and breeding and all said much the same thing I was a bit relieved...

chicken poop lip balm, Purplemaniacs?

added up the value of all my book tokens this xmas - £85 :lol:

the Beware of the Chickens door mat will be useful for the back door because we actually know someone who is hen phobic

oh dear, kitbag... luckily we were warned in advance so arranged the table and chairs on the lawn so that she couldn't see eglus or hens. Normally guests like to see the hens free ranging but not this one :|

you live in Reading too? :D

just had a thought - do we have a mutual friend?

I got Strictly Come Dancing:The Workout, chocolate, diary, a ticket to go and see a demo by Monty Roberts, a wooly sheep from New Zealand(my cousin has just visited, jewellery, a diary, PJs.

My best present was going away to Scotland for Christmas. I had so much fun dancing all evening and being with my couins who we don't get to see that often. I want it to be next Christmas already so we can go again!

OH and I didn't do presents for each other this year thanks to our joint family mobile bill being £1,000 last month  So he has given me an IOU for a camera but got me some digital photo books which is good.

From the rest of the family I got a handbag, necklace, pjs etc so not bad at all. I got this weird machine that is supposed to do your nails as well :D
