smanners
Last Sunday I rescued three ex batts. Despite the arctic conditions today they laid their eggs in the NEST BOX!!!!! , free ranged in the garden, spoke briefly to the other girls, had dust baths under the camelia, ate pasta, grapes and meal worms and took themselves off to bed very happy and lucky chickens, Now that didn't take long did it???? abwsco
It's wonderful when you see them doing proper chickeny things I know it brought a tear to my eye the first time mine were proper chickens.
susanbb
It's amazing how quickly it comes to them too. I just love watching Tara King sprawl her way around in the run dust bathing, whilst the other two scratched around happily.

dancing cloud
Thanks for such a lovely post and hello to your ex-batt girls from mine I remember sobbing at their my lot's first ever free range - and the silence at work when they saw the first photos and realised just what an appalling state ex-batts are in. Now they are all healthy happy confident greedy creatures and very cheeky little madams with it I'm down for three more ex-batts in March and hope my "big" girls can teach them to be proper chickens as fast as yours PS love their names!
