I didn't want to say to much for fear of upsetting you but one of the things I brought back from Florida was a total horror at how fat Americans have got. It was the kids which upset me - I worry that I'll be seeing that here in a few years time. I guess it never struck me before as all my recent trips to America have been to NYC - more tourists and beautiful people there than at Disney! Just to let you know what you're missing in good old blighty, instead of soaking up all that sun, sipping all those cocktails, visiting all those exotic locations, you could be here in sunny Surrey, helping me turn over my mountainous compost heap in a hail-storm, which is exactly what I've got planned for Sunday! I went there on a cruise when I was a nanny in about 1985 and then went back with my husband and children in 2005 for a 2 week holiday. We loved it. Lots of snorkling and margaritas (not at the same time!). My son dug a hole on the beach - as he always does - and unearthed a nest of baby turtles. The locals said they had never seen that before as the nest sites were mainly in the protected reserves. Oh, and a baby armadillo tried to crawl into my daughter's shoe. Hope you're having a fab time though, maybe all the speedo wearers were normal sized before they got the cruise? Americans have gotten FAT, my self included, I've gained about 50 pounds in the past few years which unfortuatly will be illustrated when I get my photos developed and posted.
